Hey BW,
I Have a G&L Legacy w/3 single coils that I run through a Rte. 66. I am wondering where you set the controls on your Rte. 66 when running a strat type 3 single coil instrument into it?
Thanks, DougG

Buddy ....
I was with Kal David on Saturday night. He said he has played with you and Laurie said the two of you were an amazing duo.
In any case .... he said to give you a hello.
And ... as a side note ... if you and he play together in the future please let him compare your MAZ 38 to his Mesa Maverick .... I think he might like your amp quite a bit. His tone was very good but I think he would like it even more if he tried your amp sometime.

Hi Buddy, I am thinking the Maz 18 is the best am to sound like you, but at lower volume. Am I right? Should I have the combo, or a separate head and cab. Should I have the 112 or 210? Thanks Buddy, Walter.

Oops, sorry y'all, fallin' behind. Yep Myles, I played w/ Kal up at Wachusetts (gesundheit!) Mountain in New England on a festival, man what a guitar player. I've been aware of him for some time because of his stint w/ The Bluesbreakers and also David Wilson at Tonequest did a real nice article on him. That ol' Firebird was made for him, eh? Sounded great thru a backline Vibrolux. Would have liked to have heard him thru his Mess o' Boogers. Hi Walter, I have used the 1X12 head/cab setup for sometime, very versatile. 2 pieces, but it keeps the weight down and makes it easy(er) to travel with just a head (If you can get a good cab, we're all spoiled here y'know!) Bill aka 'heynewguy' was kind enough to bring his Senior combo w/ 2X10's out to a gig for me, I enjoyed playing those 10's at least as much as my 1X12, maybe a little better even. Sure sounded good. Thanks again, Bill! So I don't think you can go wrong either way, Walter. I think the MAZ Jr is a GREAT amp and would be a good choice. Also have been using a Carmen Ghia for some time, really enjoying it. UNREAL w/ a Zbest I think. Especially in the right room. Hey Bob, thanks for your presence at The Towne Crier. Again, a great, fun venue. Rich (richeray) came through with his '52 tele and Ghia/2X10 cab, and as an added bonus intro'd me to Mike Piera aka Analog Mike. Really enjoyed the King of Tone thru the Ghia, its almost like goin' 'bareback'! (but w/ much more control in a small room) Dan, Doc and I learned the hard way that its a LOT easier on your gear to fly a head (vs. a combo). Cheaper too! If I'm just goin' out for a few dates, I try to carry my ghia ON w/ me, since they're so weird about guitars in the cabin these days. But its gettin' better, Even DELTA let me carry guitar AND amp on for a flight home to TX from Newark via Atlanta. But bear in mind I was EXTREMELY lucky, and I could almost FEEL the flight attendant's glare when I walked past on a full flight w/ all that stuff! Xcase wholesale on ebay manufacture a full line of ATA cases for Z's, and they are TOP SHELF. Highly recommended. A little bigger than some, but VERY protective, and they even give you a little compartment in there for your cables. I have to get one for a Zbest, they won't let me carry THAT on and I sure would like to have one in Europe this summer. If you fly a lot, be sure and check all your tranny bolts, power, output, choke. And keep the chassis bolts snug (NOT TOO TIGHT! again, don't ask me how I know...) Same w/ the nuts on ALL the pots and jacks, they'll loosen up with all the vibration and start cracklin' on you, it'll drive ya NUTS tryin' to find it. The key here is DON'T OVERTIGHTEN THE CONTROLS! The threads on those pots are REALLY easy to strip if you get too 'manly' with 'em, and doc will give you demerits if ya send it back to him for repair if it was something that coulda been avoided by just bein' a little more careful. DON'T OVERTIGHTEN the KNOBS either when you put 'em back on! Doesn't take much to snug 'em down on those pot shafts. OK, that's all I got....somebody stick a fork in me, I'm DONE fer now!

Well, I just happened to have an old Classic Lead 80 in a box that has been unused for years, and Celestion quit making the G12H100 for a remodeled one w/ more bass, guess I'll have to give it a try. My old style 1X12 Z cab w/ the G12H100 is at the bus company in Deutchland waiting for me (unless I can get a Zbest over there, boy I'd love to have one for some of the outdoor gigs.) I might also like that new G12-65, I have an old Marshall box that has 4 of 'em in there, I guess they're 16 ohms each. I was really looking forward to recording Skip's SRZ today, but the studio became unavailable right before I was supposed to go in, so I guess I'll have to wait 'til next week. One of the bands that record there actually got a 'real' record deal so they had to get busy. I wish 'em well making all of $1.60 on each CD after the suits get theirs. Maybe they'll be the new 'Boston' or something, hope so!

Hey Bud, I just had to pop in here to tell you how much I'm enjoying the latest CD (In the Palace of the King). Dang, there's some cool licks in there. I was listening on the way home tonight, I think track 12, and when the solo started I started grinning like an idiot. I'm sure the guy in the next lane thought I WAS an idiot. Maybe he's got something there... Anyway, real nice playing on that CD - quite inspiring. Thanks!

Hey BW, There is a cop doing traffic detail in Haverhill, MA that could be your long lost identical twin. I swear it was you although I've never seen you in person. He even looked at me funny as I waved to him like I knew him. I know that was you, wasn't it? ;D

Well, Joe Yuele, our drummer, is from Haverhill and swears that I would be recognized there by his own mother before him! He sez if he and I were walkin´down the street together his mom would say, "Who´s that guy with Buddy?" I´ll bet the cop has a steady paycheck comin´in.

yep, use the Airbrake quite a bit, but don't have it this trip, been mostly a 'ghia geek' on the gigs that warrant a little less level. Sometimes not quite enough but I have 'em put it in the monitor a little and usually get by OK.
James, I'll get back to you on the 6th, not 'in stone' yet....
