Thanks mate! I could even see the Ghia being a good option and nice and simple for her with a decent quality stomp box driving the front for the edgier stuff.

I loved the drive of the RXES more than the Ghia's. I know lots of people say the Ghia's good you just need to fiddle with the knobs some to find your sound but I was after more drive. Adn found it in the RX.
I'm sure our niece would be able to cop licks from Good Charlotte easy with the RX and the Foo Fighters can't be too hard either.
The whole point of this is that I love the master volume feature. I can sit back and jam at home with just as much tone as with a band.

I love my Ghia, I have found it to be the perfect blues amp with both strat and a good P90 loaded guitar. I see the RXES Jr as being a edgier/rockier type amp that would better suit her but at the same time might be out of my budget considering they are just about to be released and there won't be too may floating around the second hand market in a hurry. I am predicting that at 20 watts with the tones of the RXES Sr the Jr model is going to end up being an extremely popular seller.

I've had a chance to try a few of the good Dr.'s amps recently and the RX impressed me the most of all of them, which as you all know is a pretty high bar to leap over.
Actually, while I really like it's juicy, percussive cleans, what I'm mostly after is cranking the guitar and getting the heavier breakup and distortion it can produce. But the RX was so freakin' loud! I'm really getting motivated about considering the purchase of the Jr. Oh man, getting that sound at more reasonable levels is just what I'm looking for. Mostly I've been hearing about its great cleans but I wonder how this amp sounds with the master turned down a bit , the volume all the way up and the overdose engaged. I'd think this amp could produce even more grind than than most other Z's. Has anyone had a chance to try this?
And can anyone tell me how retains its character with the master down and how well it cleans up when bringing down the volume a bit on the guitar? Does it still keep most of that articulate edge and chime? I'd suspect that for recording overdriving the master at really low levels might get a little insane. Yowza!

Congrats guitarstan...welcome to the club! Did Eric say when he expects them in? Hoping he said late August instead of September;-) Eric told me yesterday Brent anticipates shipping the first batch around the 1st of September . This is a big thing for me. The Rx is the first Z I fell in love with only I knew it would be too much of a beast so I started with the Maz38 and now my most fav go-to is the Ghia if for no other reason it's only 18 watts and my ears bleed less. It will be interesting to a/b the Jr with the Ghia.

I think the Jr. and Ghia will make a nice team for you. And it's nice of the Doc to make lowered powered amps.
Eric told me it's hard to get him to do that...he just make such great rock amps! However, some of us are concerned about our hearing, and don't need that much volume. I never play outside and I'm always miced...so 15-18 watts is all I need, and sometimes that's to much!
Can't wait till September. This will be my first Z!

This amp sounds interesting. I play primarily humbucker equipped guitars with occasional P90's. How is this amp with these type pickups? Also based on my experience, 2 EL84 amps sound, well......small. Yet for those of you who have tried it, it seems the low end can be quite substantial if so desired, something I consider important. I've owned a Maz Jr. and still own a Ghia. Thanks for the GAS!!

Well, I just spoke to Eric, sounds like the first 20 are spoken for! Eric sounds pretty wrapped with this amp and I think I'm gonna have to be gettin' me one. Might have to order for the "second round". So no "Gleaton" happy dance for me just yet! ;D

He's a great guy, and a good sales person...and I mean that in a good way.

Hmm. I'm beggining to wonder if I shouldn't be getting a regular RXES. Everytime I gig I think, "there's no way the RXES jr will get this loud" I'm sure it still sounds good clean and not too loud. Man I just don't know what the heck i'm doin'. Better go get a third job

Too bad you don't have a dealer down there. You just need to play and compare.

Well thanks to the Hedge lending problems and market crash the RXES jr just went up $300 dollars for me in a week. Man that hurts.

Ouch! That sucks. I'm sure the market will make a turn back in the right direction...just give it time.
