So you all talked me out of buying a mini z and holding out for a maz Jr but now I'm debating on a carmen ghia because I found one I can buy in a head for about $700-750. Should I hold out for the maz jr or try out the ghia? I had the Jr before and sold it to help fund a z28 but I've been missing the maz. Does the ghia have decent headroom to an extent? Does it take pedals well? I play all strats and use pedals for my overdrive and play blues and blues rock. Can you tell me more about the ghia and recommend it be holding out for a maz Jr?

I'm assuming this is with the carmen ghia? Do you know if buddy was using pedals in this set up? I can't tag him to let him see the post from my phone.

What the heck Jeff?
How can you not have had a Ghia up to this point.
It seems to be a no brainer to have that as part of the arsenal.

My thoughts on the Ghia:
Not much to argue about,
And
Get one.

It is a 2x10 combo and straight in - possibly a KOT and a tuner.

The one I'm looking at doesn't have the racing stripe emblem but the other one with the name and the little cursive lines on the faceplate. I'm assuming this is an older model? It has a 4 and 8 ohm tap. Is there any sound difference between the older and newer models? Any upgrades or anything that makes a drastic difference?

2x10 CG with an OD. Takes pedals very well and her bottom end is tight! Think the OD was Boss Super OD.

Hell, every time I play mine I feel like it would be a bargain at twice the price.
No kidding.

When it comes to Zs I have a list of what I'd like to have and when one comes up at a great price I buy it. I've picked up JAZ 20/40 for $999, a KT45 for under $800, v2 Ghia for $800, - deals are out there you just have to be patient Jeff. Then again, I have a number of Zs that I'm first owner - it's hard to wait for every one of them to show up used!

Gotta have a Ghia - at least once in this life-time everyone should have the joy and sonic greatness of the Ghia Volume and Tone - What else do you need? cheers always, Joel p.s. I am in the process of (re) acquiring a Ghia this year ....

Is that in a decent ballpark?

Get it! A 2x10 red S&P slipped away on eBay a couple months ago for $700. Still kicking myself for not thinning out my budget for a couple weeks to snag that guy...

A great amp for the price of about 4 pedals (or two Strymons) - not a bad deal. Enjoy the fun trying different speaker and tubes.
Now I guess I should look into one /o\

I usually use what Doc puts into them but you can play around with them a bit.
