I am in the market tho for some kinda Tele pick-ups. Ive got a, oh maybe 8 year old american standard rw neck, that i replaced the (hate to say it- but horrible! ) neck with a nice beefy allparts vintage style. I love the guitar now, playing wise, ... but the stock p.u.'s sound really sterile and nondescript. Ive got fralin vintage hots on a strat, and love em, but i'm thinkin of tryin Lollar vintage for the Tele ?? I guess i'll just have to try em with this wood and my fingers to be sure.

I am actually planning to sell the Detemple Tele pickup set I have....Don't have a tele to put them in, and I also am more of a fan of hot pickups. They are unused, in their original box. If you are interested, hit me back.

I can get some pretty smokin blues tone out of my tele with the Rio Grande Muy Grandes in there. Nice and hot in the bridge and the neck pickup gets a great woody strat tone..,

Sorry Arantung I think where I've goofed is listening to too many customers and players over too many years, and I've come to believe and hear some of the same things they think they're hearing! Combined with my old ears, I guess I'm not as good any more as I once was at discerning sounds. It happens I suppose. I felt sort of embarrassed because in the end, I looked at all your Karma points, and then at my small few, and it sure made me humbled yet again. Despite all my years enjoying this wonderful endevour, I've always been willing to learn from better people!

Hey Tele1962, I hope you are joking if you think karma points make me a 'better' person than anybody else here. I'd like to believe I am among equals and friends. Also my friend, you have a right to your own experience and your own beliefs just like everyone else on this board. Who am I to doubt your ears man when it comes to what you like! I have been playing since I was 14, playing professionally since I was 18. I have gone through a lot of gear to find what I like. Sometimes I looked to and listened to other players to learn about gear and tone but in the end it was my head, my ears and my heart that I had to follow. I think I have come to what I think is me in terms of tone, but I can't say what I like is what everyone likes. We are all different and will like different things. Heck, two people might even use completely different gear to get to the same sound. As long as they like what they use, what does it matter? The greatest thing about this board is that you can learn from everyone and benefit from their experience. I count myself lucky to benefit from your experience my friend. Here is a big, fat karma from me. Peace and Happiness, Arun

Well Arun, thanks for the kindness. My job here seems to be to keep things light sometimes and my tongue in my cheek. Everyone here is pretty smart actually, but I think that could go without saying. The Karma thing was sort of a joke! I mean this is how it works sometimes: A guy with a wealth of expereince and time into instrument repair or sales says a few things that really are well devised and proven, and doesn't get as much as a nod. The next guy will say nothing at all, maybe lend an opinion about what "he" bought, or what "his " choices might be...and he gets Karma. What is this Karma anyway? Is it a popularity contest? It seems to be sometimes, and so I'm very confused by it. In one discussion, Zack Childs and I went through some issue, and had absolutely the same take on the whole thing, independently of each other. I knew then that whether you're active, like he is, or retired from Tech work like I am...the basic criteria stays the same. The differerence was that he got loaded with this "karma" thing, and you saw my numbers! I could only conclude popularity or fame or something equally ridiculous. Does this make any sense?

Thanks guitarstan. Sorry for delay in my answers, but when you start to post I'm finishing!! Exatly, reading times of your posts I think that I'm 6 hrs before. What I'm doing in Italy? Well, I'm a "real" Dr..., I'm about to be a radiologyst so my nick Dr.T (Tomas). I'm 31 and I play since 9, and played classical guitar first, at Parma's Conservatorio Arrigo Boito , even if I love rock and all styles, then graduation took too much time to music. My ideas of tone are resumed in having a R66, don't know how many other DrZ are in Italy, but I think only the stock I saw and tried with 9 -10 units. In other places I talked about my set up board and soon I will post some picture and some mp3. I'm a little envious of your musical scene, very crowded and very active. Here's no space for country, blues, jazz: only small clubs with few people. I'm lucky to appreciate every kind of music but I think that if U turn on MTV you'll see what people's searching here and why there are little opportunity to play.

Some problems, but I love Italy.
We hardly know how many places, outdoors, beaches, snow parks, corners, buildings, cathedrals, wines, foods & girls we have here. Sometimes we're searching something exotic, far, (expensive) when we have infinite possibility concentrated in 1000 km... I suggest everyone to come.
About fishing I can say that we have som lakes but the most part is in the sea (we are a 1000 km boot and 3000 are beaches) But when, next year I'll be a Radologyst my dream is come to USA. I've already told my girl, I've said her that I have 2 wishes: Watching a Brad Paisley show and return with a Les Paul in my bag. She agreed more to first but...

I think very cheaper, due to value exchange and eliminating shipping. Surely I'll be back home with something in my hands....
