That Tele above looks GREAT except for the burn. I have an old Tweed Deluxe with a big burn on one of the back panels. My theory is someone laid a soldering iron on it and forgot about it. I've seen plenty of cigarette burns on old tweed amps and guitars and I don't think a cig would've burned my amp that way. I'm not sure what the builder was thinking when he burned the guitar. It sure makes it look abused though! Yeah, that's a little over the top...certainly wasn't what I'd call a "feature." But ya know what, I can probably take that out if sufficiently motivated... looks like some careful fine sanding will do the trick and minimize that stupid burn. What am I gonna do? Wreck it? Jeez before y'all think I only play crappy looking guitars, I do have a weakness for a nice nitro-kissed slab of mahogany graced with a couple P90's; I can pretty much guarantee this one will see no burns :

Never heard of a RVC, looks great! A couple of years ago i bought one of those recent Les Paul Jr reissues. I've been thinking about having someone put another P-90 on it. Those Swarts are cool too.

Hey Stratdev, Killer axe ! Tell me more as I'm in the hunt for a P-90 fiddle along the L/P Jr lines. Who, where when, how much, do they make it in a double cut, etc? ? Thx, Curt

Hey Stratdev, Killer axe ! Tell me more as I'm in the hunt for a P-90 fiddle along the L/P Jr lines. Who, where when, how much, do they make it in a double cut, etc? ? Thx, Curt Hey Curt, It's one of those right place at the right time stories. My wife is a pro blackjack player on the tournament circuit. She was playing a tournament in Las Vegas and I hit a royal for a couple grand..sooooo...I hit all my favorite Vegas guitar shops to see if anything tickled my fancy. I was in Ed Roman's (what a dork) place and this cutie caught my eye Then I headed out to a couple other places, saw nothing noteworthy and headed back to the MGM Grand and googled RVC on my laptop. Seems as though RVC started in Canada as a ghost builder (building stage guitars for Billy Gibbons, Brian May, Elliot Eastman, etc.), struck some sort of deal with Roman, and the only place you can put your hands on one is in his Vegas store. I had to try that RVC. So I went back and gave it a workout. Blew the pants off any other slab I played there. damn! It was explosive... two Duncan Antiquity P90's (I prefer Lollars but these rock), ebony board, ebony headstock overlay, Tone Pro bridge, and the most gorgeous slab of oil- finished mahogany I'd ever seen. Oddly I was holding out for a vintage LP Jr and didn't buy it right away...but nothing materialized and I got it about 8 months later (amazed it was still there). Now I see all RVC guitars have been removed from Ed's site, citing "legal reasons." It's a stunning player, but oddly I don't take it out much, preferring my familiar strats and teles for gigs. I had a Gibson Historic 57 Les Paul Jr reissue that just was no match for the RVC. Apparently this has some extra options like the ebony board, tone pros, etc. Every once in a while ya just run across something that just floors ya despite the name on the headstock... I may take it out for a gig we have comin' up opening for Marcia Ball... it simply roars through my new Stang Ray. I hear most folks here drooling over teles with the Stang Ray (all true), but I'm surprised no one has praised it's character with P90's... it's Leslie West on steroids Here's Billy Gibbons playing my RVC:

Mmmm...Swarts (in my best Homer Simpson). The Atomic Tone (in the photo) is right up there in my 20-22 watt hall of fame... Blackface Deluxe Reverb, Z-28, Atomic Tone (in no particular order). I have this thing about dual 6V6's... May the Swarts be with you ;D

straddev, you just made me google RVC! What is the price range?? IF you can find one, mine was $1799. The RVC page has been pulled from Ed Roman's site stating "legal issues." I've never seen one anywhere else. I just love the rounded body, stellar attention to detail, and most of all the tone. If I could find one, I'd get it's little brother with a single bridge P90. While mainly a strat and tele player, I love the shorter scale on the RVC, 24 5/8.

If you guys want a fantastic P90 axe look no further than a Godin LG90 . Check the reviews on Harmony central and it will give you an idea of how well received they are . The build for the price is fantastic and they can be purchased new in the $5-600 range . Come standard with Duncan P90's and TONE-TONE-TONE ! These things resonate so much unplugged I ofter practice with it a lot unplugged and is my main " go-to " axe. All that plus the fact they are made in North-Am too

Single P-90, mahogany body, old-school wrap around bridge, vintage sunburst, jumbo frets. I've been playing my Zion alot getting used to a narrow fretboard with a 25.5" radius, so when I go back to my Gibby's I find the 11s to feel pretty light

I've never seen a Fender CS Relic that I liked. Their neck wear looks horrible. If you're going to do a relic do it right. My frieend started building these because he didn't want to take his old Tele's out to gig's when he noticed that the vintage market has suddenly made them more valuable than his car! The idea of having a guitar that plays and sounds great that you don't have to worrry about putting a ding in. I've played every Tele in that first picture and they are amazing, prob'ly the best guitars I've ever played. He builds Strats too. I've always been attracted to guitars that look like they've lived. When I started playing the guitar at 10 years old I lusted after an Olympic white Strat that my brothers friend owned. It was beat from traveling the country, but played and sounded great. I saved my moneey and talked him out of it when I was 14. I still own that guitar

That body looks great! The neck looks like an old one that has been used and refretted several times and that's a valid look. I saw a 54 Tele advertised in Vintage Guitar for.............wait for it!...........$ 67,000.00 . I don't know what makes that one so special. If it's a normal one the my math says they've gone up about 40% each year in the last 4 years. THAT IS RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!

It is ridiculous! Pure and simple. I own a '55 and a '62. I never had those kind of fantasies about the value of them in my entire life. I do admit buying the '55 for investment purposes, but nothing like that!

They are silly! I still have some levi's jeans from the eighties and they are distressed and look "vintage" I think I'll throw them on ebay for $600 bucks. But wait! ---I think they have paint stain on them that bears a striking resemblance to Jesus. Whoa - that doubles the value - $1200 bucks
