Im wondering what the Wreck has the the Maz doesnt? I am told that the sweet spot volume wise with a wreck is not that loud...at least it isn't any louder than a maz jr at master 2:00 and vol at 11:00.
Thoughts?

That's true. Pretty much the Z Wreck has a sweet spot at any setting. It differs with guitars. That's why it's so amazing. While I own a Maz Jr NR and love it. The Z Wreck is a magical amp to say the least. To think you won't have anymore volume than the Maz Jr is wrong. She's loud / It just she doesn't have to be to be sweet. It's a different sweetness though/ IMO

I find the Wreck to be louder and more touch sensitive. It produces, imo, a more nuanced set of tones than the MAZ. I love the MAZ and would not want to part with it, but the Z Wreck produces a unique sound. In contrast, I'd say the MAZ can sound like a "whatever" but with a special Dr Z flavor to it. Put another way, the MAZ can cover various classic sonic territories. The ZW stakes out its own turf. Read more: ztalk.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=maz18&action=display&thread=43571#ixzz1WejNjx1k

The Zwreck has something that no other amp I have played has. I've owned a Maz 18, Maz 38, Z28, RXES, Stangray, Mazerati, EZG50 and a Bruno UG30. The Wreck just kills it everytime.

Any tune I play on the Maz I can play on the Wreck. In it's own way the simplicity of the Wreck leaves more time to play. Less time fiddling around with knobs. I look at it this way. To many players get caught up in I need this and that to sound like him/her. Not really. If you watch Dave Baker's Wreck demo it makes the amp seem very versatile. With some humbuckers I can play Johnny B Goode spot on. In the same respect with a Stratocaster I can play all my Loving as well. With a Rickenbacker it sounds really pretty close. To go to another area. Keith Urban's new song Long Hot Summer with a touch of verb sounds astounding on the Wreck. IMHO the Wreck although it's own animal is as versatile as one would really need. I feel if you want to sound like someone in particular it's less the amp and more getting the touch and nuances of the Artist down. What makes the professional different from us. They don't get caught up in all that. They take whatever they have and just play. So to answer your question: I'd keep the Wreck over the maz. Simply because it gives me more juice when I need it.
