Im wondering what the Wreck has the the Maz doesnt? I am told that the sweet spot volume wise with a wreck is not that loud...at least it isn't any louder than a maz jr at master 2:00 and vol at 11:00.
Thoughts?

although the Maz is awesome, the Zwreck does have a different flavor to it with a more 3 dimentional sound. there are a few guys around here that own both and should be able to elaborate more on this Todd

Yeah, they aren't the same amp - not focused on the same thing at all. I can find uses for both, as neither can make the sounds of the other. Well, not precisely anyway.

I find the Wreck to be louder and more touch sensitive. It produces, imo, a more nuanced set of tones than the MAZ. I love the MAZ and would not want to part with it, but the Z Wreck produces a unique sound. In contrast, I'd say the MAZ can sound like a "whatever" but with a special Dr Z flavor to it. Put another way, the MAZ can cover various classic sonic territories. The ZW stakes out its own turf.
Not to say there aren't areas of overlap as Steve notes. I agree with that wholeheartedly.

If I had to sum up the diff I'd say it came down to the compression. The Z-wreck really has the sweet tube compression and the bloom that comes with it (and a non master volume amp turned up).
