My Z Best sounds really bright and somewhat harsh to me, are there some speakers that would help the issue. It has the V30 and G12H30 in it. Tried it with my Z28 and M12, what speaker combo for a warmer sound, wouldn't mind a little volume loss either. Thanks!

A couple of Celestion Greenbacks (G12M) would accomplish both while giving you a little earlier speaker break-up. I use this configuration with my Remedy and its my favorite for this amp.

If you haven't looked, make sure the speakers aren't wired out of phase. That can give you bright, thin, harsh sounds.

I was gonna recommend the G12M Creamback too, but not just to replace the V 30. If you just replace the v30, the g12h30 will over power the creamback and youll not be able to hear much from the creamback since its a quieter speaker. I'd try a pair of em in there. If nothing else, youll lose a lot of volume and warm up the tone...... But i think youd really like their sound with the amps you mentioned. Esp the M12......

I'll find a wiring diagram and make sure it's wired right, first! Then look at the new Z speakers and greenbacks

Wiring for both speakers should be positive, which is likely white, (it will be the wire that goes to the contact on the cabinet that will get the tip of the male plug) to the positive on the speaker and negative to negative (it's the one that contacts the shaft of the male plug). Is this starting to sound dirty? That will get you a 4 Ohm cab if they are 8 ohm speakers or an 8 Ohm cab if they are 16 Ohm.

Fwiw... My Z Best was built somewhere around '00. It's stock and sounds absolutely righteous. Perhaps in needs to break in a bit. I run a V1 'rati through her.
