I have the big 5-0 coming up next year and needed a gift for myself. So. today I finalized the build specs for my Crook and sent them off to Bill. So, I'll send the deposit next week and look forward to getting the guitar when it shows up some time next year. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the build turns out

OK, spill the beans on the specs already. kc I have to finalize the agreement with Bill this week and send the deposit, but the specs have been finalized. It's a little different than most paislies you see I'm going with his new black and white pearl paisley on the top. I don't want paisley on the back as i want the back to have the rib contour similar to the Fender American Deluxe Teles. So, The top will look like this... and the back will look similar to this (in white pearl paint to match the under side of the paisley print. The only other different aspect will be a roasted maple neck. I'm indifferent to birds-eye vs flame maple so I told Bill to have the neck maker pick out a nice piece of wood. The specs are as follows: Neck 2-piece 'roasted figured maple' Truss Adjustment Headstock Radius 9.5" to 12” compound Fret Wire 6105 Neck Shape 0.830 “C” Nut Width 1.65” Fret Markers Mother of Pearl (face & side) Tuners Locking Sperzel Body Wood Light-weight Swamp Ash (1-piece) Body Contour-Back Rib Contour Binding Black (faux-pinstripe tape) – Top Side Only Finish – Body (Top) Black and White Pearl Paisley Finish – Body (Sides & Back)) White Pearl (painted) Finish - Headstock Black and White Pearl Paisley Pickguard Clear Pickup - Bridge Florence NoCaster Pickup - Neck APC Bridge Callaham Vintage Saddles Enhanced Compensated Wiring 4-way Switching w/ Master Volume and Tone Keith

But it's got to be hard to wait that long for something with so much anticipation in it.

I just bought a Crook for my 40th. Totally worth it. I lucked out and and Bill had a blue sparkle "Water" guitar left over from a show so I snapped that up. They sound and play great. You will not be disappointed. Let us know when you get her.

If I read the specs correctly, I particularly like the idea of the matching paisley head stock. That's something you don't see every day and it should be a cool look. Congratulations.

Actually, I find that most paisley guitars that I see actually do have the matching headstock except for those that opt for the faded vintage pink paisley. Most who order that one are trying to replicate the actual '68 Fender paisley (like Brads) and that had the regular maple headstock. either way, it will be a great build. I'm eager to find out how the finished product will look down the road but I am quite content to wait the 10-12 months until it is complete.

I guess I just don't see that many paisley guitars. I'm a sucker for matching headstocks so I would tend to notice that. I hope it's everything you expect after the wait is over.

Cool...here's the prototype of the new paper that I based my build on. The only difference is that mine will have a roasted figured maple neck and mine will be white pearl on the back and sides instead of the black paisley.

I am just dumbfounded!!!! I think that is one of the best tele tones I've ever heard. You can see the meter light on one channel of the board behind him moving so maybe it's a studio full of equipment that is offering up that killer tone. If so, I would have tofigure our how to tote all that rig around

Except I flipped the colours to red and white...kinda like a lava guitar instead of water...lol and it's made from the super lightweight Paulowinia wood. Bill said its light as a feather!
