I have the M12 combo with a Blue and love it. Would the Dr. Z 1X12 cab with a Creamback be a good pairing? Or should I get a G12H30? I'm concerned with the 97 db rating of the Creamback being too quiet. Opinions or people who have a 2X12 Blue and Creamback comparison are appreciated. Thanks!

Go with a Celestion gold. In my opinion, the best match for the m12. I was not a huge fan of the cream back with the m12.

I had made several comments over a period of time (it's funny, you can actually track my speaker changes over time) in this thread. I could go on and on about how wonderful I think the "greenback" style speakers (G12M Greenback, G12M Creamback, Scumback M75, etc.) pair with the M12... but it'd be about the same if you read all 3 or 4 posts of mine in the aforementioned thread.

...maybe also these two posts, or even this one? I hope these might help.

Haha. Mark, I'm actually keeping the combo and using the "Y" connector to run the 1X12 cab as well. I wanted a speaker to compliment the Blue. Creamback + Blue in a kind of half-stack format. I didn't title the thread properly. Does anyone run this type of set-up?

Here it is. Creamback + Blue has a great sweet spot. I thought that the G12H30 would've rounded out all the frequencies, which it may. But, I like the Creamback's mids with the Blue's mids. Different, but potentiates each other.

I think all your options are different shades of awesome at this point, but yes I'd vote for the Blue + Creamback. Even more interesting, I'd try the creamback 1x12 extension cab as a closed-back if possible, perhaps.. it might add some welcome "thump."

Very nice...I'm planning on the same addition to my combo.
