I like very much . A while back i was going bonkers for a Epi Casino and this would be the big brother by the looks of it (especially with those dog eared P90s). Is it hollow body like the casino or is it semi?

This one is all hollow inside.......and you can tell because it has a huge bassy "thump" when you play the low E-string. I cannot believe how utterly awesome this sounds thru my z-28 and a little TREX reverb. Nails that "Little Charlie" tone to a T and the neck position p-90 just sounds so sweet.
I looked into EPI casino's, but, couldn't find one that would not break the bank........a vintage one that is.
This guitar is one of those destiny guitars. '"WE" were both born in 1968...in Michigan......and I'd like to think we've been working our way back to each other all these years. It's a tone that I am just now ready to use.
Sorry for the corny story!

Those 330s are full hollow. The neck on the earlier ones joined at a different fret making the guitar overall shorter but still had the same scale length. I have a 1959 ES125TDC that is also full hollow. It feeds back so bad it's hard to control. It's worse than a ES175 or L5! I always wanted a 330 but could never find one for a price I liked and those days are gone now! Paul Mcartney still uses his Epi which is the exact same thing except for the headstock.

I had a '59 or '60 330 that I used for many years (from 1971 to 2000). I curse the day I had to sell it. David Hidalgo (Los Lobos) says he records mostly with his old ES 330. Nothing records better.

Classic - that is one sweet lookin' 330. ;D and it looks like is being safely guarded too

........Safe guarded by "Delta" security. It's almost like mint. I was searching for more of a relic look and feel so I wouldn't sweat scratching it up........but this one is like new. Bummer eh!
She needs a fret job......which I expected. Also, the bridge picup is much weaker than the neck. Need to address that as well. I threw some gold "marked volume-tone" speed nobs on her this morning. Looks even better. I cannot believe how veratile this axe is. For most of the pop tunes I do in a band...this axe will cover 'em. The 330 has just recently been on my Radar.......I cannot believe I missed it.
Thanks for letting me brag guys! Appreciate all your info about the 330's.

I really like hollow bodies for their, dare I say it, "bark" ha! ;D
My first album I used a Gibson Tennessean all over it. That thing had heaps of "woof" and "bark". ;D ;D Very dark sounding but still had a pinggy top end. Great guitar. (my producers)

Thanks D66.....DRT and Raz a ma Taz....... This guitar story is a strange one. Two weeks ago I woke up and it was beautiful and sunny so on a whim I threw my pup in the car and drove to my old school.......in East Lansing Michigan. I wanted to let Delta romp in the River and I also wanted to check out Elderly Instruments for a Johnny Hiland DVD. So I get to Elderly and I see 3 old es 330's.....but, I don't really know what they are, I just love 335's and these catch my eye. I go over and start having a "fang" ( I think this is what they say down under???) on one of them and quickly realize that this is not a 335.........and I didn't even know that the dog ear p'ups were p-90's. Totally a guitar that was never on my Radar. Anyway, I went and asked Frog what it was and what the dealio was.......of course in his weird way he made me feel like an idiot for asking and then proceeded to give me the low down on the es 330 and its whole history. So I plug it in and "LIGHTBULBS".......I start hearing all these tones that I have been tryinmg to cop but couldn't. Jump blues and rockabilly etc.......I also back the volume down and start playing some tasty soundy bebop runs. Right there I realized that this was the style of guitar that I was meant to play! Anyway, the one at Elderly had a whammy added to it and I was not quite ready to buy anyway. So I go home and start the whole process of GASSING and researching on the internet. I get my Vintage guitar mag out and go to0 every site looking into price and availability.......also on Ebay.............and within days I have sold my Tom Anderson and my Deluxe Reverb and bid on this beauty from Ebay of all places. Some dealer down in Alabama(Gio guitars) has a "make an offer" listing. By friday I have cash in hand from selling my amp and guitar online..........and then made a paypal transfer and then this guitar is in my posession. What a week! Guys, some of you remember that my Dad died last year around this time. Well, this year I have had a few experiences like this where a piece of plum equiptment has come into my hands from nowhere...........Whether its true or not, I like to believe my pops is up there helping these items find there way to me..........because its been so easy lately.

Apparently my Dad just cruised off to handy man land! he hasn't been helping me with anything. He's probably busy fixing up a place for Mom when it's her turn to pop her clogs! I hope he doesn't work too hard, she'll want to change it all anyway.

I remember watching one of these before I ended up with the Heritage...I wouldn't mind taking a look at the "bastardized" one with the added whammy (less $, no?) lol. Congrats, it's beautiful.

Black P90s would really make that Epi look good!

A good healthy dose of tarnish would look good on those P90s also. Perhaps 30-40 years worth would be about right.

Ooooow....hollow body to boot... I like even more. I bet it moans and growls. Actually what I meant to say was, I bet it really "moans and howls" not growls. When John Lennon was asked what he liked about the Epi Casino he replied..."I love how it F##%ing moans and howls". ;D

That's a lovely axe Tas. A splendid dog too I don't get the 335 thing though, (don't think I've come across a 330) perhaps I will in time, like my current tele fixation. I'd like to hear some sound clips if possible.
Watched a prog on Hendrix last night (UK BBC2) all those Strats, Gibsons and Marshalls getting smashed to pieces.

Gibson should take a lesson from their storied past and build a new guitar just like that one...if its even possible for it to 'really' be like that one, with all the 'hands-on' it took to put it together w/ no CNC machines. It'd prolly set ya back more than the '68 original. Look at that finish, just gorgeous and perfect and we all know how nice they play and sound.
