I like a pedal more compressed myself. I think the trick to enjoying the BB is in more of a high gain mode. It probably is more compressed at higher gain but I was using it barely on. I know at low gain and into a clean amp it's not too smooth.

I guess I'm the only one here that cant bond with the BB. for me a little to compressed same as my Zendrive. Me too, bluzsteel. I finally ordered one, got it Monday. I really wanted, and tried to like this pedal. I placed it in different areas of the signal chain going into my Maz Jr. It does sound a little too compressed, and gains up too fast for my taste. Tried it with my Tele, Strat and LP guitars. It's not the worst sounding pedal by any means. But, I've found the boost, dirt and OD pedals that work for me. The BB is going back. Btw, thanks for whoever posted about Tulsa Band having them for $175 shipped! Ray K.

Few answers on BB pre, as I'm going into GAS: How is the midrange response with R66 and does it cut throu' the mix, even with gain past noon? As I heard it pushes more basses respect AC and RC (I own the last): does it work better with single coil (like mine) or HB? With my OCD sometimes I hear a loss in mids (waiting for version3??), anyone compared them?? Thanks, a poor boy into GAS...

The BB is one of the most transparent drive pedals I've ever heard. I guess we should be thankful we have so many choices! Harold

Yeah, everyone hears things differently. I have a LOT of distortion boxes here, including some that are pretty famous. I think the BB kicks their collective butts!

I think that sit is efinitely better with HB's, but it still works nicely with single coils.

No problem, bud. i'm sorry It didnt work out. Strato! Sorry I couldn't remember, but thanks again. That was the lowest price anywhere on a new one, and the folks at Tulsa are top notch - never dealt with them before. Don't mean to make this a commercial, just think they deserve the props, and I appreciate you posting the link. Ray K.

This is probably bad, but i just google searched "Buy xotic effects" and it was like the 4th one down. I was kinda nervous about it, but i gave it a shot. I got plenty of confirmation emails, but I never got one that said it shipped(I was hoping for a tracking#) I was then pleasantly suprised to see it sitting on my door step 3 days after I bought it. free shipping at its best!
