hey all! i originally posted this thread: ztalk.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=maz18&action=display&thread=36588i love having a variety of tonal options ready to go for bands when i'm producing. right now i have a few of the staple/foundation amps and am starting to build my collection of unique/interesting amps that will add to an album by being a different sound than what you hear on every other record. so i'm curious as to which my next z amp should be. all the hype around the wreck has me nearly ready to pull the trigger, but i'm also wondering if the price would be better spent getting a couple other amps in its place - carmen ghia + something else, etc. any thoughts or feedback on this?

update: no one make a comment unless you're saying that the Z Wreck would make the most ultimate studio amp ever and it would the best option.
because i may or may not have just purchased.

The owner of the store I purchased my Wreck from is a no BS guy. He described it as the best Vox AC30.....I am not a Vox guy but I will tell you this amp kills and is a great compliment to my Remedy. For me, I have the most serious tone i could imagine.
Happy Holidays,
jeff

I'll bring up something.
Listen to Counting Crows 1996 Recovering The Satellites CD. It is a master piece of recording. The guitar tones are f'ing unreal.
I don't know exactly what has to do with a Z-Wreck, but it has a lot to with the engineering. It wasn't recorded in a studio, but a rented old wood house. They used Marshall Vox and Fender amps like everyone else, but I can't recall any recordings that have such amazing guitar tones.
