Hey Zac, I was curious on Paisley's early 63 strat, with the reissue neck, is the reissue neck a custom shop or just the reissue nitro laquer ones. I believe there was a time fender was making great reissue's closer to the originals until custom shop. Any idea what year his reissue neck is? Its a standard ri neck from the mid to late 80's I believe. Zac

Hey Zac, do you have any idea what tuning Brad is playing in with his acoustic in the song "Raining You"? I figured he just played it with a capo on second fret or I could be wrong. Just curious. Thanks

Zac, Have you tried any delays that are close sounding to the Aqua Puss?I like my Boss DD-3 but it's a little to bright for my taste.

Zac, I am experimenting around with some different tones and leads. Some of Clayton Mitchells sounds are pretty hard to reproduce. Do you have any idea what he uses on Anything but Mine. I am new to the forum...forgive me if I am posting improperly

But, it is a little bright & sterile when stock. So I got the new Keeley DD-3 mod, and it's a HUGE difference. Much warmer like an analog or tape, and the level control has a LOT more range that it did in it's stock form. JC

It's crazy. If I was a manufacturer, I'd figure out what these guys are doing and change my own pedals. They've already done the r & d for them. Doesn't make business sense to me.

Zac, I have another question for you.How does Brad get that cool splatty low end?It doesn't sound muddy yet kinda reminds me a little bit of a BF amp that's farting out on the low end.IMO this is a big part of his signature tone.
Thanks

Thanks Its sometimes the 15watt celestion blues getting pummeled. Sometimes it the sound of a small output tranny getting overwhelmed. I like the sound of it too. Zac

Zac
Hello!
I need to call you soon and catch up.
I was with "The Wreckers" last night .... Tony is the guitar player (forgot his last name) (last gig was Wynona) and forgot the dobro player / banjo player's name but he is a good friend of yours, went to college with you, said to say hello to you. Before this gig he was with Keith Urban.
You know me ... I remember amps a lot easier than names!
In any case, they were both great guys and I spent a lot of time with your friend and gave him a bunch o'tubes for his Ashdown that he has at home in Nashville that is having issues. Myles

Zac, care to comment on the McPherson guitar?
I've played some Olsons and other nice guitars, and word on the street is that the McPherson smokes them all....
The sound clips on their site reflect the best acoustic tones I've ever heard.

Still looking for what chorus pedal BP uses. I see a few references to Keely, but cannot find in script nor a (clear) pic as to what he uses for a chorus? While I'm here, "how" does he blend the RC and AC boosters? - Thanks SPK

Hello Zac, I have an old Jap made ts9. I took the back off of it and found out that it had a JCR 1005 chip in it instead of the JCR 4558 chip that everyone is raving about. I was wondering if you knew anything about this chip and if it is better or worse than the JCR 4558 chip? And if it is not as good as 4558 would it decrease the value of the pedal if I had it modded? The first 3 #of the serial # are 170. I think it was built in the 80's but I'm not sure. Anything you could tell me about this pedal I'd appreciate. Thanks, DEW

I just had that info posted on Brad's site. I went back and looked at all the old recording notes for the first 2 albums also. Hope y'all enjoy it! Zac Zac~ That is in my opinion the best feature yet on Brad's board!! Thanks so much for adding all that info from albums past to present! Awesome! On to my question... re: Brad's acoustic (McPherson) which one does he play LIVE during his acoustic set on stage... is it still the MG-4.5XP? If so due to the off set sound hole technology on them do they require a p/u (sorry if that's a stupid question I'm new at this) I absolutley love the sound that guitar has, so woodsy and natural! Also I notice that Brad takes turns playing the Larrivee for some shows and others he'll play the McPherson is that just purely by preference? Or does it have to do with where he's playing (sound acoustics, indoor/outdoor venue) Thanks and btw...even though Chad has done a fine job filling your size 14 shoes, ;D you will always be missed! Can't wait to see the words Produced by: next to your name ~Jen

The sound clips on their site reflect the best acoustic tones I've ever heard. Justin I like the McPherson's alot. They are very "even" sounding guitars. They tend to record quite well. I would not say it smokes them all though. It does rank pretty darn high though. My reccomendation is to play as many guitars as you can, and buy the one that speaks to you. Zac

He has used a Boss Vibrato pedal at time, and the model of it on the Line 6 modulation modeler. He uses it for a warbly sound. Zac
