here's one for you zac, what amp or amps did brad use on alcohol and on the little moments solo? thanks Little Moments is a Mazerati and a Z28 with JBL d130. He used a baked ts-9 by Keeley. Alcohol is the ES RX and AC 30. A zen drive was used on the outro. Zac

Hi zac I was browsing brad's forum and I saw someone's photos from the Columbus, GA show on this current tour. One picture stood out as brad was playing a pickguard-free red/black paisley strat style guitar with a maple neck. What model was this? The picture is here. Thanks very much Nick Its a Crook Custom strat style guitar. It does have a guard, it just matches the guitar real well. It has vintage style Fralin pickups. Zac

Hey Zac how are you. I have a question? I'm wanting to add some strap locks on my tele and was wondering Who makes the strap locks Brad uses. thanks Zac matt Because of the benders using dunlop strap lock buttons, he uses the same on all of his guitars. Zac

Zac, I noticed in the AMPS you list at the bottom of your threads... you have a " carmen ghia 2x12 w/ celestion blues" I assume this is a head and cab becuse I didn't think the doc made a 2x12 ghia "combo" ? just wondering cause I LOVE my carmen ghia w 2x12's and thought that a 2x12 carmen ghia combo would be COOL... and was wondering if you had a custom one or something??? hey zac a question about brads benders. I know he uses mcvay and glaser benders. I hear the mcvay is a copy of the glaser. Now to get to my question! What throw does brad use.

Jason Its a custom order. The good Doctor told me mine was the first 2-12 combo Carmen Ghia. To me, it makes the ultimate indoor small to medium sized club amp. The celestion blues, and the bigger cab make for an incredible tone at a more manageable level. Zac

What throw does brad use. matt Brad has benders that have the normal Glaser/Mcvay throw, then he has some McVay benders with longer throws. Not so different that it is awkward to go back and forth from though. Zac

Hey Zac, does Brad's 68' pink paisley maple neck have a nitro-cellulose or poly lacquer. I know the transition was slow in 68' but I was just wondering. It sure looks nitro to me. Just curious. Thanks Zac

Hey zac yet another question for you? Whats the difference between the ibanez ad-80 and the ibanez ad-9 matt The AD80 is an earlier Ibanez pedal, of the same generation as the TS 808. It used (2) 9 volt batteries. The repeats are kind of grainy sounding. The AD-9 has clearer repeats. The AD80 is still a cool pedal. Brad used his for the ZZ Top song "Sharp Dressed Man" live. Zac

Hello Mr. Zac,
Just wondering if you'd share your thoughts regarding Tele pickup height measurements for both bridge and neck. Are you of the precise measurement school or the fiddle around with it until it sounds good school?
Thanks!

Hello Mr. Zac, Just wondering if you'd share your thoughts regarding Tele pickup height measurements for both bridge and neck. Are you of the precise measurement school or the fiddle around with it until it sounds good school? Thanks! I am a fiddle around with it kind of guy. Depends on the guitar's inherant qualities, and the type of pickup. I generally like them fairly close to the strings. Just not so high it effects tuning or sustain. Zac

Hey Zac, Loved your article in Vintage Guitar with Paisley. I am interested in getting a Crook Tele and been browsing at the colors. There is a Dark Pinkish one in the Magazine between two blues that struck me as very cool. You probably handled that guitar in the past, so is it really that dark? I am not really looking for a bright pink guitar and the pink one shown on Bill's website is a lot pinker than the one in the magazine. The one on Bill's website also seems to sparkle a bit unlike the one in the photo.
Thanks a lot for looking and any help would be appreciative.

As far as your question, I need some clarification. There are 3 different pink paisley guitars on Crook's website, a relic, a sparkle, and a standard pink. Which are you refering to? Zac

Thanks for the reply
The guitar I am talking about is the one of the Paisley part of the website, the basic one. Is that the one in the magazine or is it the sparkle Paisley(not relic)? The sparkle looks a lot like the one in the magazine but without the sparkle. Thanks for all your help.

The sparkle looks a lot like the one in the magazine but without the sparkle. Thanks for all your help. Brad's in VG is darker than say a reissue Fender. Brad's is not a sparkle finish one. Hope this helps. Bill can do one like you want though. I personally like the relic pink paisley best. Zac
