I have never removed the chassis from my Maz Jr. 2x10. I will be removing it this weekend to reglue the tolex. Is the proper way to remove the chassis to have the amp in the upright position and remove all tubes beforehand? Should I turn the amp upside down so the chassis is on the bottom before removing? Maybe lay the amp down on the face of the amp? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

No need to remove tubes, just disconnect any reverb cables (if you HAVE reverb) and remove the screw that holds the power cord in place (if you don't have a removable power cord, like on my Senior) then ease it out by holding onto the power and output trannies from inside the headshell.. DON"T TRY TO PUSH ON YOUR CONTROLS or lift the front side of the chassis by holding up on the underside of the controls, you can sure jack one up that way. I always stand the chassis up on its end with the power tranny on the bottom, and lean it back to rest the weight of the amp on the power tranny. BE CAREFUL and don't overtighten the chassis bolts when you put it back in, be sure to have all 4 screws in and tighten each one symetrically to insure uniform 'snugness'...the chassis has to be coupled to the RF shield in the bottom of the headshell, but make sure your screws are not crossthreaded or too tight, its a MESS to replace a pressed-in pemnut in the chassis. Oh yeah, UNPLUG IT FIRST! And don't touch any electrolytics by accident...YEOW! Don't wanna become a 'fried ham'...The ol' tube guys always said 'keep one hand in yer pocket'.
