I bought a Z 2x10 cab last spring, and finally took the plunge and got a Jr NR head to go with it. I've seen the posts about wait times, and I got lucky with both. I called Willcutt and both times they had exactly what I wanted in stock. Both are blondes and (nothing new for the group here) the amp sounds spectacular. I've just had a half hour to noodle around with it so far, but here's the newbee question. Should I be plugging in to the hi or the low input? and why?

The guys are right as usual.... no right or wrong, but here is a thought. If you use the low input, sometimes you can get more usable sweep in the pots, especially if you are using humbuckers. The high input will be louder and have a little more breakup, but I kind of like the low input for the range I get from the amp..... and its still loud enough. It also seems to me that the amp is cleaner with the low input, and the bass a little easier to control.

Ahhhh, the LOW input is one of the secret weapons of the Z amps Especially the MAZ JR and SR.... little less gain and yes, more clean and little more headroom before break-up... just for fun try plugging into the LOW input and MAX'ING the MASTER volume.... then turn up the VOLUME as desired... you then basically have a NON master volume amp... ;D love running mine like that... it's USUALLY how I use my MAZ SR... and almost always use the LOW input... I also usually use my RX ES with the LOW input for less gain and more clean headroom and sparkle. Jason

dirtdoctor85,
No need to preface your question about it being too simple. I am a new 18jr owner and I had the same question. My guess is that this is often the case...
Cheers,
Newbie
