THIS TUBE BLEW OUT DURING THE GIG, IS IT THE CORRECT TUBE,SOVTECK 12AX7LPS, OR WOUL OTHER PRE AMP TUBE IMPROVE PERFORMANCE? THANKS, BIG B SMILES

I am using the Sovtek 12AX7LPS in the phase inverter position. There are others you could try such as the SAG GT which may be better. There is some good info on this subject in the "Ask the Experts | Ask Myles" section on this board. Good luck

The Sovtek 12AX7LPS is a very good P.I. So is the GT 12AX7M. I've been favoring the Sovtek lately, it seems to have a little more urgency to it. Gives the amp a little more snap. Jason

Its pricey but the Mullard CV4004 is great. Otherwise I think the LPS tube really very good. Almost any 12ax7 type tube will work. Check them for reliability, then use your ear to check for tone. I think the GT tube sounds thicker, compared to the LPS.... again its all about choices.
