I picked my Octal Six head up at the UPS Store at 3:00 this afternoon and I have logged 3 hours, non-stop on it since getting home from work.
I am absolutely floored!!! This makes Z number 31 in my current collection (I know I'm still a rookie compared to some, Mike 🤣🤣🤣), but I think I know Z's quite well. This thing is truly special.
I have ran it through 7 different speaker cabinets, of various combinations, and it excelled with every one. I think, again, I think, my current favorite is my 1X12 Dr Z convertible with a 90 watt Celestion Alnico Cream. That could change, but who knows. There is no speaker or combination of speakers that sound less than stellar with it. The same can be said about pedals, it loves everything I threw at it.
This amp is truly unique in the Z line and absolutely has a voice all its own. I'm not good with words when it comes to describing tone, but the Octal Six must be heard in person to believe. The videos that are out so far all sound great, but having it in front of you is another world entirely.
Thank you Doc and Joe Walsh for another winning collaboration.
Time for a quick slice of pizza and right back up to the music room. I ain't close to done with it this evening!

What Tom said! I have had mine since Tuesday and have been loving it. In particular I really like the way it sounds through my Z-Best. I haven't tried it with pedals yet but like how responsive it is clean. Like Tom I am not very good at describing what I hear but one thing that comes to mind is that it has a complex clean sound all it's own. Another amazing Z amp!

I played the Octal Six at the mini Z Fest in July, and it was very unique and sounded fantastic! Have fun with your Octal Six!
