Sounds like you got the makings of a nice band. Interesting rehearsal space; art gallery?

Sounds like you got the makings of a nice band. Interesting rehearsal space; art gallery? yes. The drummer and his wife own and operate an art gallery and framing shop. The drummer is also an accomplished composer and quite well regarded in both Jazz and Cuban music community in the Pacific Northwest. They host jazz shows in this space and we get to use it and the built-in P.A. for full band rehearsals.
We also used it to record two cd's with a previous band we were in together. This is just one of three rooms full of art and prints. always fun to check out the new acquisitions when we rehearse.

Drummer had a nice feel and dynamics. Played the fills & turns to let the listener something was coming. He and the bass seemed to work well. It'll be fun to watch the progression and growth. Sounds like a nice place to rehearse.

Sounds like a nice place to rehearse. He's a great musician. He was reading a chart that had all the rhythms and hits written out. And, not sure if you noticed, but for rehearsal, he gets the job done with only a hi-hat, crash/ride, snare and kick.

Just goes to show you you don’t need a lot to make good music.

Why the switch from the Ghia to the Maz 38? Any particular reason?

Why the switch from the Ghia to the Maz 38? Any particular reason? Master volume for level control while also getting some amp gain tone... also, the nice spring reverb. The Ghia is a 1x12 w/ C. Blue... too clean and loud below 11 o'clock.
