I’m about to get a Remedy for the second time. Non MV version.I know how loud they are. My question is which works better for this amp, the master volume mod that Dr Z offers or the brake lite attenuator. I will use this amp live but I’ll also use it at home and practices. Thanks

Welcome to the forum. I've only played a non MV Remedy a few times through an Airbrake (not the BL) at basement levels. It did what it was designed to. I've owned several different attenuators over the years, including the BL, and have owned a number of Z amps with a couple different versions of MV. I didn't care for any of the attenuators as well as either of the Doc's built in MVs so I guess my vote would definitely go toward getting the MV installed rather than running it through the BL. YMMV. Good luck.
PS: I liked the bigger and more expensive Airbrake much better than the BL but the BL could be mounted in the cab.

I have a MV Remedy and use Air Brake or Brake Lite with it all the time. It allows more variation in volume and tone (distortion). I like the 40 watt setting for its punch and with the master around 1:30-2:00 and volumes to taste I usually have one or two clicks on the attenuator for home /basement playing. ME

I have the MV version, and I've previously owned the non-MV version. The Airbrake definitely works well with them, but I much prefer the master. It works extremely well with the Remedy and tube life will definitely be extended with the master over an attenuator. You are still driving the tubes much harder with an attenuator than a master. Both the cleans and overdriven sounds are indescribable with a Remedy, and the master gives you great control over the gain. Truth is, you'll be happy no matter what, it's a must own amp as far as I'm concerned.

I did the same thing with the Carmen Ghia. The Brake Lite was good but the Master Volume is great.

Cool. I’ll do the master volume. The one I had before had the best beefy cleans I’ve ever had but it was so loud I couldn’t really get it into overdrive without blowing out the band, so I sold it. I’ve regretted it ever since
