John (Mojobum) sold me his 2016 Ghia, and it arrived today. Thanks John!
I am trying to decide on the right 12" speaker. So far I have tried- V30 GB G12H30 Blue Ruby GA SC64 Vet 30
My ears are kinda fried, so I'll continue tomorrow. For now my top 3 (in order) are- Blue G12H30 GB
Will you tell me your top three?
Thanks!

For me in a 1x12, the v30 just works. But keep in mind, as widely documented, all v30's aren't the same at all. You could have one that just sounds like crap with that amp, or it might sound great. I'm sort of curious about what Z chose for the upcoming X-ray (warehouse v30 that's a little different) and that might be a great pairing too.
fwiw, I have a 4x12 with 2 g12 h30's and 2 v30's (great pairing). Those are both the Marshall branded v30's and if I put a mic on either one, one sounds way better than the other one. No idea why. Also have another 4x12 with celestion branded v30's from about '99 and those sound great to me even though I'm not really a v30 fan. Point is that there is a lot of variance in those speakers so to just try one and write it off maybe isn't the best idea.
For me, I really like the Ghia in a 1x12 with one of my Marshall branded v30's and also love the amp in the 4x12 with the h30/v30 combo.
Also, I don't have a blue (or ruby or ga or vet30) so I haven't tried those. But maybe don't give up on the v30 or vet30. My greenbacks with the Ghia just doesn't work at all for me and just muffled, but we all play and hear differently too. Just sharing my experience fwiw.

I have a Ghia and switch between a Blue and G12H30. To my ears, they both sound very good. If I could only keep one, it would be the Blue.

I tested my Ghia with a Scumback M75 65W, Weber AlNiCo Blue Dog 50W, Eminence GA-SC64 and V30 and liked the V30 the best. They were all pretty broken in too.

Often I use the Greenback, but the one that kills with the Ghia is the Avatar 50. Said to be designed to be a mix of the G12H30 and the Greenback, all I can say is that speaker really does sound fantastic straight out of the box.
Greenback Avatar 50 10” Tone Tubby 40/40

Mine has a Blue in it. I have tried others(GB,G12H30)but the blue sounds the best to my ears.

What kind of sound are you after and/or what kind of music do you play? I'm a Greenback fan. But, my sound is pretty crunch for my Rockin' Blues. Also, the Good Doctor chimed in on his Ghia preference here: ztalk.proboards.com/post/990280/thread. I actually want to give my V30 a spin at my next rehearsal based on the Doc's comments about the freq sweep here: ztalk.proboards.com/post/990310/thread. With my Ox, I'd say the V30 is my 2nd choice after Greenback.

With my Ox, I'd say the V30 is my 2nd choice after Greenback. I am a "British style edge of breakup" player, and pretty dialed in on AC 30 sounds. My main rig is a Tele, Z Wreck Sr and a Ruby. I do add some dirt for heavier rhythm and leads, but not a lot. Typically a Bad Bob and/or BD2 with the gain off to add a little hair.

I only used my Ghia with a 10" gold...and the closest on your list would be the blue. (but I was looking for a specific tone)

10 inch speakers is all I've used with my Ghia.
The gold is great but I really like the 10" inch Z speaker the most. It has a nice balance to it and I really like the way it sounds when the amp is pushed into overdrive.

I've got a Z 2x10 loaded with Z-10s. It's incredible with the Ghia.
In my 35th Anni combo, Doc got it right with the stock WGS Veteran 10".

Howdy, I like the Blue and Weber's 30 watt AlNiCo silver bell in Z's 1x12 cab. The former for it's creamy chime and great, 'Stones like tones. The Silver Bell from Weber brings welcome bottom end and goes very well with my 5 string Tele. I rate the two speakers as "dynamically" equal.

I went with the Blue, but the idea of a little more "thump" from the Silver Bell sounds like something I need to hear. Thanks man.

Tone Tubby Alnico Red (12") Eminence Red Fang (10") Celestion Gold (12") The TT Red is the one speaker I own that I did not try yet. What do you like about it compared to a Blue?

I've never tried a C Blue with a Ghia. The TT hemp cone takes off some excess high end and just sings when pushed. It's very responsive to the amp...you can feel the cone moving in and out under your finger as you bend the strings. It's a perfect combo!

Celestion Blue ( but do not use at stage volumes!) Mojotone Anthem Jupiter 10SA-P ( I’ve only used this one clean and at low volumes)
Any “ good” speaker will work with the Ghia. It just depends on what you’re going for.
The one last “class” of speaker I’ve yet to try is a Fane.

Well, I am officially crawling back to Doc's recommended V30 for the Ghia. Actually I am using the WGS Veteran 30, but I think that still counts.
The damn thing was just too bright with the Blue or the G12H30. I had an aha moment when I tried a Ruby, I really liked it. I got it down to the Ruby and the Vet 30. Both great, just different. The Vet 30 won out; probably because I had an extra one and a new Ruby is quite expensive. The subconscious can be very powerful...
