No, I didn't modify the amp. I bought a used Kingsley Jester Sizzle tube overdrive pedal. Plugged into my Princeton Reverb and Vibrolux Reverb, it was undewhelming. Much better plugged into my Down Brownie and Cure. Then I plugged it into my Z Wreck Jr. Wow! What a match! The pedal seems to respond well to the warm, textured sound of the Z Wreck Jr. Boost Mode 2 is too bright for my other amps, but just right with the Z Wreck Jr!

That's the way I felt when I used the Dr Z Z-Drive. It's a perfect fit for the Z28. Never needed a multi channel amp - I had the Z Drive. Very transparent and complimented the amp instead of changing it.

That's what I've found with the Jester used with the Cure, Down Brownie, and especially the Z Wreck Jr. It's very much part of the amp. It kinda sits on top of the sound of the cleaner amps- the PR, VR, and the clean channel of my Fuchs Blackjack.
