So I like my telecaster with the Tone Pot bypassed and its not bad with the .047 cap, but I was curious if I ran a 500K Pot if it would result in a brighter tone, but I could still roll off if needed.
I’m also down to my last 1.5” of solder and I don’t want to buy a 1/2 or 1lbs of solder. Anyone have a source for 60/40 Rosin Core in small spools?

Sure as heck, yeah, it'll come out stronger and brighter.
This past year I built a Tele-style with a Fralin P90 in the neck, and a Steel Pole 43 in the bridge. (Really cool outlaw country guitar!) I did 500k pots due to both of those pickups being spec'ed for it. Was bright, but of course those pickups both have some punch & meat to them, so it balanced out.
Also--search "kester pocket pack" on Amazon and you'll see some good quality 64/40 solder (I use the 0.031") in these little plastic tubes. The cap has a dispensing hole too, where you can feed the solder out while using it. Pretty cool handy little solder packs and you don't have to feel like you're an industrial user.

I like a "no load" pot in the tone position of a tele. I just make my own by cutting the track. Works well for me.

Are those liniar or audio taper? Audio, I have no issues with the taper or sound of the pots, I just need a brighter starting point. 10 years ago I purchased this “Fender Custom Shop” pots that they discontinued, but I could not get them anymore. I had a hunch they were Bornes so I emailed them and they gave me the closest pot to them. Perfect Match and that is all I use. If I go to 500K in the Tone Pot, I may make it easy on myself and use the VH Pots. Those are pretty good too.

I have a custom set of pickups Gravelin Pickups makes for me. I didn’t like the other P90 Tele sized pickups I tried so we worked out a pickup set that I just fell in love with. Just fine tuning my wiring to get my “formula” down.

Your local hobby store probably has solder in a smaller amount.
