I have owned a few Z amps , Therapy, Maz 18, Maz 8, Z 28, and EZG 50. I bought the EZG eight years ago and sold everything else. Well I have playing more guitar lately and have always wanted to try the Z wreck. I was to get the Jr, but ended up finding a decent deal on the Z Wreck combo.
First impressions: I am very happy I bought the full size Wreck. I like having some headroom and I think even the Wreck breaks up plenty for me at band volumes. This thing sounds incredible. It is just so musical. Chords have that beautiful bloom and single notes jump out. Not as loud as I thought it was going to be actually. I like the volume at about 9:30, so probably quieter than most run it. Remember, I have been playing an EZG for 8 years. That is a loud amp. Love the way the tone controls interact with amp. Hard to explain, but it isn’t like adjusting your stereo like it tends to be on Fender style amps. It really changes the shape of the tone and feel of the amp. The front end is easily driven with pedals. Not a bad thing, but it will take some adjusting from the EZG to get my pedals to give the sound I want. Z Wreck + Gain Changer and/or Klone is pretty wonderful.
Anyway, that is my quick first impression. Can’t wait to get some more time with the amp and try it through a few different speakers, especially the EVM 12L (I know, not a likely choice for this amp, but I love that speaker).

Great choice. Still my favorite amp, and I’ve owned _lots_ of amps.
