Anybody around here able to comment on the quality and/or value of a 20-year-old Hamer model? A particular mint-condition 2002 Artist Korina with 2xP90's has caught my eye for sale on TGP, but I'm not sure if its price lines up with its supposed value, desirability on the market, etc. (I know a fair amount about the typical Fender & Gibson--and I know a ton about PRS models--but I don't know a lot about Hamer.)
What I DO know is that in the late '90s my local dealer who carried Dr. Z also carried Hamer and G&L, etc., so I know Hamer was good stuff, at least at the time. But I am also aware of some 'golden era' for them... early/mid 90's, maybe? It's a lot of money so I just want to know if it might still hold its provenance/value if I don't love it, or decide to sell it later, etc.
Any thoughts on the early-2000's USA Artist model/lineup? I can PM the link to the ad, if anybody cares to dig deeper with me.

Mark, send me the link so I can see what it looks like. USA Hamers are wonderful guitars. They were well made and sound good. Rick Nielson seemed to like them. Their resale value currently is low compared to PRS, Gibson, and Fender. I'd put them in the same category as G&Ls. Great undervalued guitars for resale. They move real slow for sellers. The last one I got about 5 years ago, sat in that shop for around 5 years before I bought it. In the $500 to $950 range is where I'd put most of their stuff from that era. Real early ones do go for a lot more since then they were almost like a custom shop rather than a manufacturing plant.

I know nothing about them. But, after Googling that model, it's a cool looking guitar. Sounds like HeadShrinker has some good advice for you.

Hamer USA, Joel, Danzig, and Frank Rindone , worked together to build me an awesome endorsement guitar! As far as I’m concerned, they were the best of the best……..6-8 guys did it all……..best nitro finish ever……….my son now has the guitar……..don’t think I’m getting it back lol

I believe it's still for sale... he hasn't moved his price but with more time that passes I'm sure it would come down.

Can you send it to me as well? Not interested in buying, just curious. Hamer USA made absolutely great guitars. Joel Danzig is fantastic. When I searched the ‘verb, everything was $2k and up. Some were WAY up there.
