Hey guys. I've searched quite a bit, but can't find any posts describing the difference between a regular SRZ65 and the LE version. Is it just cosmetics, or is there a definitive sonic difference?

I believe they are the same. The SRZ 65 has gone through several iterations - original large box head, SRZ 65 RH (reverb head) SRZ 65 combo, SRZRC (reverb combo), small box head, (which it was cancelled), the LE (limited edition run of 35), followed by the re-introduction of the small box head and it's subsequent "retirement in 2015. While there may have been tweaks across the various models, I believe that it basically remained the same.
I'm sure Doc and/or Frankie will chime in here.

...and it wouldn't surprise me if the muZeum contains examples of many of them.

I did have Joe Walsh's SRZ 65 long box head used at his induction into RNR HOF for a brief second before I sent it back to seller because it had been destroyed in shipping. Bubs has that one now! Ahhh, the one that got away .... 😢

I had an LE for a little while, and I had been (and still am) fully of the understanding that it was just a cosmetic difference versus the standard version at the time. The LE's were black with red front, silver control plate, and red chicken-head knobs. The last standard ones were simply all-black.
I swapped the knobs on mine (#35 if 35) for silver Marshall-style knobs... so, if you come across that one, it could still be that way OR its new owner might've switched 'em back.

Excellent! I very much appreciate everyone's replies and detail. I am actually headed out today to try out an LE, so with any luck, I'll be coming home with it.
In other news, I repurchased the EMS that I sold to a buddy a while back. It was one that I slightly modified in the past, which Doc wasn't happy about, but the good thing is I put it back to stock last night, and started researching the newer master volume, which I feel it definitely needs. Later today or tomorrow I'm going to make a post about it in the EMS section because I have a question about the "VOLUME" and "GAIN" relationship.
Anyway, thank you for your replies!
