Hey all. Has anyone sent their ghia in for master volume and voicing updates? Can you share the differences? Is this too broad of a question? lol. I know ghias tend to be the telecaster of amps where true fans tweak things like tubes and speakers to achieve different results. I really do like this amp and it’s becoming my desert island amp, not sure how it could be better honestly. Anyway, anyone able to chime in??
Cheers

I can't answer your question (always the best way to begin a response), but this might help: ztalk.proboards.com/thread/29021?page=1I just received a 35th Anniversary Ghia, but I can't open it until Christmas LOL. In the meantime, I've been reading everything I can find about Carmen Ghias and I thought the above thread was an interesting discussion of the various voices of different generations of Ghias.

Awesome! Thx man. And merry Christmas! I’m certain you’ll love your ghia regardless of voicing!
Cheers!

If you haven't played with different tubes in v1 give it a try. I had a lot of fun with that and out of any amp I've ever chased tone with, the Ghia is the most responsive to tube changes that I've found.

If you ever want to remember what it was like being a child at Christmas, find someone to put a Dr. Z under your tree.

I haven’t gone to deep down that rabbit hole but I did swap v1 for one Don recommended and the whole amp changed. For the better! Such a cool amp. Definitely the telecaster of amps. If you know you know

I have a 2022 Ghia head and I installed a PPIMV myself, absolutely wonderful addition to an already amazing amp.
I know when you send them in to Don, no tweaks are made to the circuit, (it doesn't need any, it's a perfect circuit as is). I do believe they give you a nice new faceplate like the 35th anniversary edition has as well.
Do yourself a favor, and box your Ghia up and get it to Don, you will be so happy you did. The PPIMV works very well in a Ghia and gives you wonderful gain at respectable volume levels, and is 100% out of the circuit when it's on 10. Not only does it allow you gain at lower volumes, but it also allows you different shades of clean at lower volume settings.

I’m using it tomorrow then off it goes. I just might get rid of a few other amps I have as this one is becoming my no. 1.

It's so much fun to play and once Don puts that PPIMV in there, new doors will open.

I've never had an amp that was so voiceable by simply changing tubes and speakers. It's got so many flavors, just a terrific design.
