Hello!
Was curious if anyone has their Remedy close by where they could comment on the noise floor for each channel when they are wide open.
I'm hearing some expected hiss when I crank the high (loudness 1), channel, but the normal (loudness 2) channel puts out more of what I would call a hum when cranked. It's not a buzzing hum, but it's a different noise than the hiss of the high channel.
So when cranked....
- High channel is more of a hiss. - Normal channel is more of a hum.
Obviously this type of circuit isn't going to run dead quiet, but just wanted to make sure these noise floors sound normal.
Thanks in advance!

I’d say sounds about right, when cranked… High channel by its eq should be a higher frequency in its noise floor. The normal channel would have its high end attenuated by its circuit. Of course neither would be heard while playing your guitar. ME

If you have any extra 12ax7 tubes around, you might try them to see if they lower the noise. If so, I would only bother with the 1st tube socket, the one closest to the edge of the cabinet. (and also closest to the input jack) That is the most sensitive tube, and if it makes noise, the 2nd tube will amplify that noise. (2nd tube amplifies whatever it receives from the 1st tube...whether it's guitar signal or noise) So it's really important the 1st tube be low noise.
Floor noise can also be effected by UV lights in the room. It can also be effected by standing right next to the head. (guitar pickups within 2 feet or so of the head.) Not to mention the latest noise generator: Putting your cell phone on top of the amp.
