I must say. I had a v2 ezg for a couple years. absolutley loved it. and for some stupid strange reason I sold it. I went through multiple high end and regular amps afterwards (I've always been a one amp at a time kinda guy) but I had a victory dutchess, supro statesman, orange or50 and a morgan mvp. I took a big loop and I finally went back and bought a 2008 ezg 50 yesterday with the anniversary stamp. I couldn't get over not having it and none of those amps beat that sound in my opinion. I'm a pedal platform kinda guy and in my band I'm constantly going from clean to distortion in alot of my songs. so this amp is just perfect in my opinion and I don't think ill ever let this one go. I've learned my lesson.

Cool. If I hadn't started making amps I would probably be playing my EZG 50 exclusively. But since I've made a couple amps I enjoy playing those simply because of the extra satisfaction I get from having made them. One of the best sounds I've ever experienced is playing a Strat in front of the EZG-50 on top of a Dr. Z 4x10 cabinet.

I'm another one who came full circle back to the EZG. I sold the first one to help fund a really nice 65 Super Reverb when I was going through my vintage Fender amp phase. My second one is also an 08 that I eventually sent in to Don for the MKII mods. I really like that oval front look. Enjoy.

Yea I shoukd have mine hopefully this coming Wednesday. how drastic do u think the change will be for ke from having a 2013 down to a 2008 now? is the bass really only the 1 thing I'm gonna notice? is it really even that bad? I just hate the thought of having to ship it and send it in again. tho I do have a really good tech I'm sure he can handle doing rhe bass mod.

I never did the bass mod on my first one and got along with it OK for several years by keeping the bass knob turned almost all the way down. I had the bass mod done by a local tech on my 08 pretty much right after I bought it (involves replacing one pot and one cap if I remember correctly). It kind of depends on your guitars and speakers but I suspect that if you had the post bass mod 2013, you are probably going to want to have the mod done, either locally or as part of Don's MKII mod package. I've never played a post 2012 EZG so I don't know if there are other differences you might notice in the 08.

The MKII mods are the jewels in the crown of this amp. I put a MV in mine as well and it's great. Even at low levels it sounds huge.

I sent mine back to Don and he did every mod imaginable to it, even a lo input and master volume. I gave him the green light to do anything he wanted. There is no blackface Fender that I've heard that can touch it.
