I've got a thing going for this speaker, it's just great. I got introduced to the Cream when I got my Z28 MKII proto and it was loaded with one. Just a superior sound, great chime on top of a solid bottom and midrange. Somebody once said that talking about sound is like dancing about architechture and that's what I'm struggling to do right now. Come to think about it, I can't dance anyway.
But long story short, today I put one in my Z 1x12 Convertible cab, and left out the center panel in the back. Tried it with my EMS and it was great, and the Therapy too. But it really came alive when I plugged in my EZG 50. I've never been overwhelmed by the EZG until today and it's such a perfect pairing. I was blown away. Killer, killer tone. And the Monza and M12 really shine with it too. I haven't tried it with a Maz yet but I bet it's not going to dissapoint.
It's an expensive speaker for sure, but when you consider that the speaker in an amp is the final link in the tone chain, and generates the sound that you actually hear, I think it's a bargain. If you haven't ever tried one, consider it for your next taste test. I bet you won't be disappointed.

I'm with you. Cream is an amazing speaker, although I still prefer the v30 with the therapy

People rave about the Cream and Gold. I have both and they sound good to me, but other speakers generally sound better for what I like to hear. Having said that, I am not planning on selling either because I know some day I'll find something that they are perfect for.
I also prefer a V30 with my Therapy. A Mesa branded V30 to be exact.

I "talked" to Dave the other day and he mentioned he was messing with cream and was pretty excited about it again and it prompted me to pull it out of the sealed 2x12 it was in and put it in z 1x12 and revisit it. I also totally dug it with the ezg and antidote. It doesn't have a lot of highs, but that can be a really nice thing too. I think if I were to generalize it, the highs feel kind of soft and round, like there's nothing harsh on the top end at all. Like your high e and b strings have a fatness to them. And it sounds nothing like a gold, fwiw, but the gold I think exhibits some of what the cream has in that the highs are a hair rounded.
I might also add I dug out a warehouse speaker, the orange one that Z told me he thought sounded pretty cool and that worked really well with the ezg too. Brighter than the cream, but well balanced.
Final observation is it feels a bit like the alnico magnets maybe add a bit of softness, or maybe slower attack, and it's kind of like what you get from alnico vs. ceramic magnets on a pickup.
Off subject, but maybe worth sharing. This was a while ago, but a friend lent me a 64 sg for a while and that thing was just magic so I bought a regular production "61" sg from SW. That was about the most dud of a guitar I ever played so I returned it. Undetered, bought a custom shop sg and that was about 10 times better and I hung on to it. Still searching for "that" sound, but a couple throbak pickups to put in it in hopes of it sounding closer to what I remembered. Those pickups basically sounded EXACTLY like the Gibson custombuckers I took out of the sg. Just recently I had those custombuckers pickups put in stock 335, replacing the Gibson MHT(?) pickups that it came with. Those pickups sound phenomenal in my 335, and particularly with the ezg paired with the cream 1x12, but whatever quality those pickups brought to that combo, it did the same thing with the maz38 and some other Marshally stuff. Highly recommend if you are going down the paf rabbit hole.
