I'm a Robert Palmer fan and had been messing with this take on his classic "Bad Case of Loving You" (written by John "Moon" Martin) for a while. After rehearsing and then gigging with my friends, I suggested we get this thing recorded. Plus, the bass player never seemed into recording, and I wanted to get him out on Spotify/streaming services for the heck of it. He finally said "Let's Do It". I was pretty happy with my Ghia crunch on the rhythm and cleanish sound on the little leads. However, my brother really kicks it up on sax. I hope you all enjoy it! Edit: I edited the title on this after djcakadave noted the resemblance between our bass player and our favorite Amp Designer, Builder, & Engineer: DRZ . Scroll down to the bottom for the side-by-side picks.

Fun tune with a different spin! I always enjoy different interpretations of a "hit" or otherwise when done right, and this is "right"! Have fun with music - be creative!

We covered that song back in the day with my three piece band. Wish I had a Ghia back then!

Nice rendition. We used to play it somewhat Palmer style years ago. Recently, as my wife and I are doing a duo, we were playing Suzy-Q and my wife starts singing Bad Case of Lovin You over the Suzy-Q riff and a new mashup was born. Nice production on your version as well.

... Recently, as my wife and I are doing a duo, we were playing Suzy-Q and my wife starts singing Bad Case of Lovin You over the Suzy-Q riff and a new mashup was born. Nice production on your version as well. I can hear that mashup. Nice! It's kind of cool when you hear a mashup for the first time too. We've been working 'For What It's Worth'. In the middle, the bass player popped into a very well known tune. I was like "I know that. I know I know the chords. I can't place the dang on thing." After about a minute, I realized it was the Stones Satisfaction. Doop! . I still couldn't get the iconic lick into his groove for some reason. But, I'll be ready at rehearsal this weekend.

Is it only me but, the bass player looks an awful-lot like Mr. Zaite?

Is it only me but, the bass player looks an awful-lot like Mr. Zaite? Hmmm. I hadn't really noticed previously. But, there is a resemblance. I bet it would be a very solid rhythm section with Dr Z on drums and Oz on bass.

Is it only me but, the bass player looks an awful-lot like Mr. Zaite? Whoa! I shared the pic with Oz (Michael Richman) our bass player. I think he agreed on the resemblance. Below is the pic he sent back. Yikes! That's funny! This caused me to change the name of the thread too!
