I was looking to do some modifications to my 2x10 Mazerati and make a new baffle for a 1x12 Gold I recently came across. However, looking into it, it looks like the baffle is built into the cabinet in a way that it cannot be removed and replaced. Is this true or am I just missing the last screw that would allow me to remove the baffle?
It seems like my only other alternative would be to have a 1x12 combo cab made.

If you really need the 'gold' tone....another alternative is 2x10 golds. I've had a 12" gold, and I had a 10" gold in my Ghia. The 10" gold is REALLY good. Celestion did a great job.

Thanks John. I'm thinking that might be my next best option!

i'd ping Don at repairs@drzamps.com ... a few years ago I got a 1x12 baffle from them to replace the 2x10 baffle in my Z convertible cab. I don't know if the Maserati cab baffle can be replaced, but Don will know.

Not the answer you were looking for, but as John mentioned the 10” gold is pretty nice. I run a Ghia in a 1x10 combo and love it. And I have a 2x10 convertible with a gold and Z-10. That matchup is wonderful. I like it a bit more than my WGS 12” Blackhawk which is supposed to be their version of a Gold. Food for thought.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Don got back to me very quickly to let me know the baffle in not able to be removed so I'll stick with the 2x10 configuration for now and probably swap in 1 or 2 gold 10's. I've been enjoying 12" speakers lately so in the future I may look at getting/making a whole new combo cabinet with a 1x12 baffle.
