Hey there! Recent Cure owner… and absolutely LOVE it.
I wanted to add reverb and read numerous posts in numerous locations regarding the effects loop. So obviously not buffered.
And everything I experienced with a Keeley Hydra, and read, points to the loop just being very hot. Hydra was clipping… sounded fizzy especially on trem at the high points in the wave. Seems like a common issue with a lot of similar pedals in the Cure loop.
So definitely needs at least line level capable pedal.
More research on similar issues with other high level loops pointed to most Strymon being able to handle it(which explains alot of Cure owners liking the Flint in the loop) but not always. Someone point out that the Nux Atlantic, having a switch for +4 line level, is actually rated to handle up to over 16db.
So not the most elite pedal but gave it a shot. Wow! Works perfectly. No noise or clipping or anything no matter how high the preamp volume is. And it actually has some great delay and reverbs, analog dry pass thru, true or buffered bypass and some cool extra features. I can’t tell the difference at all when I remove the loop altogether compared to running this thru it. I only use about 5ft cables though so ymmv. Also have a flamma(cheap) looper after it and no issues with that either.
Anyone with a Cure that struggles with the loop might wanna give the Atlantic a try. Very inexpensive to boot.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Welcome to the forum! Btw , I use an analog delay in place of reverb , as it’s far less room sensitive……..my 02 Thank you and I hear ya! I often like delay better… doesn’t wash out the notes as much although the raverbs on here are pretty good at leaving the original notes alone… assumedly do to the dry pass thru. This does both reverb and delay but If can find a real and analog delay that can handle line level I might get one down the road. Any recommendations? Honestly the 70s delay in the Atlantic is a really good simulated analog delay. Have a great weekend!
