My first Z is on the way, Maz 18 jr n/r! I'm interested in a clean boost, and these two pedals have been strongly suggested. I play mostly jazz to heavy blues, gridy is great, leaving heavier distortion to my radial hot british. Any suggestions?

i really found the super hard on to be just flat out noisy. but most the zvex effects are for one reason or another. (its analog and whatever so its not supposed to sound nice? this is what their philosophy seems to be) it apparently makes your pickups really hot or something like that. just my two cents worth, it may be something to try though.

I'd recommend either a Zendrive or an Xotic BB Preamp. I own both, and to my ears the BB is more of a clear, clean boost; but the Zen is a great sound too.

I agreee. I have both as well and use the BB for more classic rock tones and the Zen for lead tones that are more overdriven. I do run the RC booster for an overall clean boost and a touch more volume when using the BB for leads. It truly is a tone enhancer as well as a boost. Good luck! 6strang

I have the RC and BB. I'm thinking about buying in a second RC because it's so sweet sounding and useful--clean boost, enhancer, mild overdrive, GREAT with the Jr for blues. The BB to my ears gives a more compressed, smooth sustain with less bass response. Both are really great and I use them a lot, but the RC stays on all the time and is a 5 star IMHO.
