It’s been listed a couple of days. Have been in contact with the owner. I am looking forward to being an Z owner. I’ve been lurking around here a couple of weeks. I have interior photos sent me. Has the GZ34. Anyone have a guesstimate of the year? Thanks in advance, I know a member should be able to enlighten me a bit. Jim

Welcome to the forum and congratulations. You can tell the year from the letter at the beginning of the serial number. The only one I have memorized is S=2008. There are several threads here on translating SN's. Enjoy.

Well boys n gals, I’m off on a highway venture today. Will finally get to try out a Z. Looks like a good‘un for a “starter” Z rookie. Don’t know why I never played that MAZ jr over at Mojohandfx. Was always the 3 Monkeys Sock Monkey 12/18. Wound up with that one. Next I reckon I’ll be needing an Airbrake. Jim Btw looks like it’s an “0” #511…’n bone stock.

Due to my schedule, I've not had much time to play the new '66. That changed this morning. Got to spent a couple hours with it. Used a Mojohand Fx Rook OD and lower end P90 equipped PRS. Wow, this rig is down right amazing. Cab is a Randall 4x12 loaded with Celestion G12m greenbacks. The first go 'round I had with it without any effects, volume up. The head wanted to vibrate off the cab. Only attenuator I have..very briefly used once Marshall PB100, only to verify it worked. That was with a 2204s, 1965a/b stack. I mean who needs to attenuate with a MV head. I don't want to use it with the Z. Besides I'm low on speaker cables.
Next up gonna try it with an open back hardwood cab > G12 Alnico Gold. Got a new Fender Robert Cray Strat last week too. Gotta lot of guitars, speakers and pedals to go.

DC here!
Welcome to the forum!
You made the right choice - lols I have both the Rout66 with the 2x10" cab - and the Z-Wreck combo first iteration with with the speed/comfort switch at the back.
Both are great amps - perhaps the Route6 still is my fave. Enjoy and keep on picking
Cheers; Dixiechicken!

Only attenuator I have..very briefly used once Marshall PB100,
I had one of those PB100 attenuators. Once I tried out other attenuators, I realized what a piece of JUNK the PB100 was. It colored the tone more than any other attenuator I've tried. (massive mid scoop)

Looks like that’s the cab to own. I’m keeping my eyes peeled for one.

DC here!
I run my Route66 with the Weber Minimas 50 Watt in our rehearsal studio. To tame the volume. Mainly because I like to crank the amp for a little dirt when I dig in.
Another option would be to run the amp clean - below 12 o'clock on the volume and bass & treble. And using pedals for overdrive and dirt. The amp takes pedals really well.
As for my 2x10" cab i run it closed - ( it does have the removable backplate ) I prefer it closed it's little tighter a little louder and a little more bass - to my ears at least. YMMV A bit more HiFi-sh if you will.
Without the backplate the sound to me is a bit more midrengey and a little more diffused. That could be an advantage of course depending on stage & place you're gigging.
Just my 2 cents - we're all different and that's a good thing - right
Cheers: Dixiechicken!
