My first impression is “wow!” I’ve been a long time Therapy guy but the Z Master might quickly move into the top spot. I’ve wanted this amp for a while and finally got one thanks to djcakadaveI was hoping to spend a lot of time with it today but only got a little bit of time in before Covid made me take a nap. I can’t wait to turn it on again.

Congratulations on your NAD. I'll be interested to hear your comparison to the Therapy once you have had more time with it.

Congratulations on your NAD. I'll be interested to hear your comparison to the Therapy once you have had more time with it. I did a little bit of back and forth yesterday between the Therapy and Z Master. I don’t feel like they’re similar at all really. My Therapy runs into a convertible cab with a Celestion Ruby. It’s a lot warmer than the Z Master and maybe a little less gain too. I usually run my volume on it at around 1:00 and use the Master for actual volume. I love the master on the Therapy which is a big reason it’s been my main amp. The Z Master oozes character though. I love the Therapy when I’m using humbuckers and playing slide. It just feels like the right amp for that. My initial thought is that the Z Master will be primarily used when I’m playing single coils. I primarily play in a church setting so I almost always only use one guitar. If I ever get back into playing out again—fingers crossed but I’ve got three little ones at home who demand attention—then I might have a harder time deciding what to do.

Thanks. I had a Vicky 35310 Bandmaster at the same time as the Therapy for a couple of years and I understand your comparison. I use my Therapy controls about the same way but my volume stays at around 10:00 instead of 1:00.

I’m really interested in trying a z master. I bought the mk 2 z28 and it’s incredible. I imagine the z master is great too. I wonder if the two are similar in sound?

Had the Z-Master and sold it but really wish I would have kept it. I have the Z-28MK11 and they are completely different. Both amps have that 3D surround sound thing going on which is really cool That cab is amazing. The 3-10s in the Z-Master are great. The Z-master is looser and spongier. It's got a beautiful blooming tone. The Z-28 is a slight bit more percussive it has a quicker response to it. Both extremely great amps and both can get the job done. I do prefer the punchier Z-28 for Church though. It just works really well with the type of music we play in the church it cuts through the bass and the hammond B3.
And it also blends in really well with the drums. You really can't go wrong with either amp. The Z -Master is excellent.

I don’t know what it is about z amps but I want one of each hahaha. Really happy with my z28-2.
