Z has done it again with this little 30 pound firebreather. I needed a lightweight amp that I can take anywhere and this fills the bill perfectly.
The thing that really sticks out to me is that the Ghia makes your guitar sound like what it is; a Strat sounds like a great Strat, a Les Paul sounds well, like a great Les Paul. The PPIMV is flawless, I believe it is as good as the "Level" control on the Cure is. The volume comes down and you don't lose any chime or girth. The lightweight cab sounds great too, it doesn't have a hint of 'boxiness' at all. It sounds like a much bigger amplifier than it is.
I'm loving mine, it's not going anywhere. Except with me!

Nice! It’s nice to see Doc knock it out of the park. I was going to order one in blackout but it wasn’t an option. Maybe next year when the regular Ghia is offered with the MV? Maybe Doc will drill a hole in the racing stripe faceplate for me 😉

As one would expect. After all, they ARE Ghias! It can get different but it don’t get no better!

What is surprising - my Jetta, with a neo speaker, is one pound LIGHTER that the new Ghia. They both sounded great, just different flavors of greatness!

And would say it has a higher gain structure than the Jetta?

And yes, the Ghia gain at 10:00 is about the same as the Jetta at 1:00.

I couldn't help myself, I put a 10" greenback in the new Ghia and found the gain to be very close to the Jetta. I guess the Veteran 10 breaks up fairly early. My sweet spot with the Veteran was around 10:00. With the Greenback it's around 12:30. And my quick comparison: The Greenback is more mid focused than the Veteran and may be just a hair louder.

I tried my 10" Greenback and it's great.
One thing that stands out about the Ghia is how much it responds to different speakers and tubes. That plus the way it shines with different guitars makes it such a standout design.
