I was using an Ibanez Tube Screamer for the Remedy and it worked great. Switching to the CAZ it really lost any usefulness. I'm currently using a Way Huge Green Rhino. Just curious as to what everyone else is doing.

My standard has been an Earth Drive for years. A little of the radar. I also like a Maxon TS808 better than the TS9… it’s much smoother, but I recently found a JRR pedal that is an 808 with an Analogman mod and a 6db boost for $50… killer pedal. I also have an SLO following those if I want to get super crunchy… but the Earth Drive is the most used. (This is out of a couple dozen drive pedals I stupidly own)

I use a Prince of Tone more than any other. To me, it sounds more similar to a cranked amp than a Tube Screamer does.

Lovepedal Tchula Gold mainly as a boost and the Vemuram Shanks ODS-1 JHS Angry Charlie for Marshall crunch. The Shanks ODS-1 is on another level. Its prob the best overdrive pedal I ever purchased. I may super glue it to my board!

Keeley GC-2 compressor. All I'm doing is applying the slightest hint of compression and boosting the output. Really I'm just making the amp do more of it's thing. Works fantastically on the CAZ, EMS, and MAZ18 for me. It feels and sounds like you just turned up the gain control on the amp.

I used to use an Original Zen Drive. I bought a Dr. Z Z Drive and it works so well with the Z Amps. When you step on the Z Drive it feels like it’s part of the amp. As always YMMV.

No DO pedals, except for my non MV Fender ( a tubulator from MF on their stupid deal of the day, it’s a very cheaply made TS copy……..but it sounds pretty good
Bought 2 for 5 bucks each, gave one to a friend
Have had great pedals in the past, the original Green RINO, ……..we were a deal for all of Jeorge’s products in the early days of Way Huge….I do miss those days

I tried an OD -- can't recall which -- into the CAZ-45 and didn't feel it added anything. I've been intending to try a Klon-style pedal as a boost and eq shaper. One of these days....

I like just using the amp, plenty of drive tones available with the CAZ

I like just using the amp, plenty of drive tones available with the CAZ I don’t own one, but see one scenario where an OD might be of use with this amp. Say you’re banging out some speed metal and somehow need to tighten it up some. Maybe use an OD with the volume up and gain all the way down to squash it. Although I doubt the CAZ ever gets flabby in the low end and would benefit from this. Too much iron and meat in the power supply for that. That said, I just wouldn’t put a box between me and that amp. Just a PCNS cable and I’d be good. Oh, and the Lester, downtuned of course.

I've found the CAZ doesn't seem to like the typical ODs, in that you will turn them on and it won't really add anything to the sound. I would suggest something more like a clean boost or compressor with the level turned up, or using an EQ as a boost before it.

I've been using a boss sd-1 with the CAZ. I keep gain at around 1:00 and step on the sd1 for solos. 80s rock heaven!

A klon clone (decibelics golden royale, which is the great klon clone ever made)with the gain at 1 and volume up works really well for a solo boost. Doesn’t over compress.

Been using a Turbo Rat. Volume knob on the rat all the way up and distortion knob down. Turbo rat was made to be used with a cranked Marshall/higher gain sound from what I understand
Works great🤌❤️
