I know the pack is not the MKII, but can anyone share some info about the character of the profiles in the pack?
Thanks

Thanks. I meant more like a description of the character of each profile, clean/dirty, bass/treble settings? Thanks

That depends on the author and how much or little they put in the notes of each profile. It varies greatly.

Right. I was referring to the pack offered by Dr Z. I figured some folks here have tried them.

I’ll look and see what the notes say.

so there's not a lot of description in the Z Packs in the comments section other than amp, single coil/humbucker, and sometimes a note that the EQ bypass was engaged. attached are screenshots of the rigs on in Kemper's Rig Manager so you can see the relative level of gain. I could find no way to export this info into any readable format. The great thing about all kemper profile packs is that, for the most part, they are pretty cheap ($20-40, for what is usually a pretty large set of profiles), and there are tons of free ones (though I've seen few Z profiles for free). www.dropbox.com/s/oqs30tyhik14lan/Screen%20Shot%202023-03-30%20at%208.52.49%20AM.jpg?dl=0www.dropbox.com/s/u0ifsbf4aa22jw9/Screen%20Shot%202023-03-30%20at%208.53.04%20AM.jpg?dl=0www.dropbox.com/s/4bp5sx98ean127w/Screen%20Shot%202023-03-30%20at%208.53.15%20AM.jpg?dl=0Edited to add: I've never seen anyone add detailed notes to their profiles to indicate where they had the amp controls set (gain, mv, b/m/t, presence/cut, etc.). That would be a lot of work, and not clear it would add much for the user since you can't alter that with the Kemper's controls (the Kemper's tone controls work on the overall profile, not like an amp's tone controls). If you like the way the profile sounds, that's about the only meaningful "test." It's helpful to know the gain, which is why Rig Manager shows that (so you can quickly check out clean, crunch, or high gain profiles).

Thank you!
I wondered about the B/T controls. The way they control gain. I figured having that work the same on a Kemper would be a stretch.

yeah -- think of it this way: a Kemper profile is a rendering of how an amp rig sounds on a recording (i.e., how its sound when mic'd and recorded) (I'm ignoring the profiles where the cab is left out to allow for IR choices). So, like a recording, the bass, mid, and treble on your stereo doesn't affect the bass, mid, and treble on the amp, just on the recording you hear of the amp. So when you turn up the bass on the Kemper, it's increasing bass on the entire profile, not like turning up the bass on the amp as if you had it in the room.
that's why in any set of profiles you'll generally get a lot of different variations of the profiles of the same amp ... mostly this is gain related, but can also be how the author changed the tone controls in addition to gain.
