This is cool. I found some mini bucker adapters for P90 route guitars. See the picture. They look good and it fit perfectly. I wound a Firebird pickup for a recent customer and I needed a way to tryout the pickup to make sure I got what I wanted. Took 10 minutes to do the swap. If you have a P90 guitar that you want to try something different in, this is a way to go I kind of like this look, I may need to make a set for myself!!

+100. I've got a Goldtop LP Tribute that came with P90s, and I got a pair of Lollar Mini Humbuckers and a set of rings like those. Dropped right in, and works like a charm.

It worked so well in my Goldtop that I'm thinking about trying mini humbuckers in my Les Paul Special. It sounds great with P90s but they're just so dang noisy. My Strats are quieter than those P90s are.

Looks great. I wonder if that would work in my LP Special in the bridge, and leaving the P90 in the neck?

I like my goldtop LP deluxe so much that I put a mini in an LP junior special. Left the P90 in the bridge.
after thought: the bridge is a Lollar reg P90… a bit polite. Might speak the staple pickup in at some point. Fwiw… I’ve got a great SG Special with Gibson P90’s that does that, ‘slightly less polite’ thing.

I'll put a P90 in my neck and see how they pair up. Might need to special wind the neck P90 with a different magnet so that it matches up sonically with this mini bridge pup.

That would be great, thanks...we might be coming up with the next great pairing! A rollicking lead pickup with a sweet, pushed rhythm tone.

It's like mine in the picture above. An LP Jr. with two pickups.

Cool, modded , then , right? Nope, not yet! For now it's stock but the Gibson P90s are too noisy for me so I want to find something that has that P90 growl but not so noisy.

You guys are light years ahead of me on this stuff, but chiming in anyway, and I think this discussion is interesting.
I have never owned a p90 guitar. A couple years ago a friend brought over a fairly recent p90 les Paul and and Les Paul deluxe. The p90 LP sounded fantastic. I was playing a humbucker LP when I switched to that, and it basically sounded like a les Paul except a nice clean air on top. Maybe a little less mid-range focus. The deluxe kind of had that same thing going on, but not quite as chimey. It sounded really good though, and was sort of in that p90 range of sound. Like closer to the p90 than my humbucker LP.
A couple weeks ago the same guy brought over 4 more guitars. An early p90 Baker, a couple completely custom made hot rod Strats with 2 pickups (one hum/hum, one hum/p90), and a newish sg refretted stainless. The baker sounded really cool, and very different from any of my guitars. The sg was complete "meh", sounded like a regular current sg. The hum/hum strat was about what you expected it to sound like except it was a cut above normal what you would expect. The Wilkinson vibrato worked really well, and the guitar sounded good. The eye opener was the custom strat with the p90 in the neck. That neck pickups in that guitar was incredible sounding. Huge, high output, but really clean sounding too. Didn't sound like a strat at all. I guess what I'm saying is the p90's a really cool, but the LP deluxe mini humbucker was really cool too.
