Maybe this is common knowledge, and just news to me.
I was going for a Keith/Rich Robinson type tone with an Open G Esquire. Found it with Volume and Tone all the way up, Master to taste. Middle position on the Esquire with tone knob rolled back a bit. Switch to "bridge" position (pickup->output, no tone control) for more snarl and cut.
To my ears, there's not much more top ended added by the Tone knob one you're past about 2 o'clock. There is, however, more grind and compression. Again, to my ears.
Have fun and play loud (even if it's through an Ox )

Yes Sir! Vol -10. Tone -10 master to room/venue………..I never change vol or tone even with different guitars! I use vol and tone on guitar to anything I need……..hands down the best amp I’ve ever owned at any time or price……..Welcome to the forum… ….and thanks Doc!!!
