Finally got to take my amp out of the house (waited on a padded cover) and brought it to band practice. We generally play very low since the hearing damage is done and this did not disappoint. I turned it up a little but every note just bloomed. I ran the pre full or very close to it, tone controls wherever (near noon) and master on 9-10. I found so far a Boss SD-1 sounds best to my ears but I have not run through all my pedals yet. I like it much better than a TS10, even though they are close on other amps. In any case even at that low of a volume (drummer is always the loudest at practice) my leads were singing out clear as a bell. It was like coming back home after being in a foreign land for years. I have and had lots of great amps but nothing cuts through a mix like a Z, nothing I have played anyway unless you turn it up too loud. Well done, VERY well done! So happy I am back after my audio detour

Honestly, I think you should send that back to Sweetwater. That way they can put it up for sale as a demo unit and somebody who really wants it can buy it right now. hint hint.

I've got to stop reading these posts! I already have 9 Z amps in the house Nine would bother me. That’s like an A- or just short of a perfect score. Ten would be perfect but then make sure you don’t buy anymore. Own 11 and that’s like F and you’ll have to start all over. See JagMike

I don’t have my first gig with mine until March 2. It’s an outdoor gig, so I’m looking forward to airing it out.

I gigged mine last summer and I used it for all our Christmas shows. It was a game changer, because other band members went out of the way to tell me how good my guitar sounded. This is a full house big band, 4-5 saxes, three trumpets, two trombones, baritone, bass, 2 guitars, drums, vocals. The Z28 MKII sits in the mix so well. Comping chords are right there...present but never cutting or drawing too much attention. I use pedals with mine and when I hit it with a good overdrive for leads it comes right up front and soars over the band. Never brittle or nasty; but always just right. Gorgeous tone. It's such an awesome amp to gig with, I think you're gonna love it. I was using it with the Volume set around 10:30-11:00 but this winter I upped it to around 1:30-2:00 and cranked the Treble up a little. Now it gets hairy pretty quickly (I'm playing humbuckers mostly) but turning the GV down a notch cleans it up nicely. Then it's down to how hard I hit the strings. I think that's one of the things I love about this amp so much; the way it responds to touch. It really is an integral part of the instrument, not just something to amplify the guitar.
