For any who recall, I moved up to Calgary last fall as a worship director. Got a member on my worship team up here who plays a ghia. He’s been using my M12 the last few weeks and we finally got together for a jam. M12, Ghia, RxJR.
I was surprised that the Ghia seemed the loudest. Or maybe it’s just the volume pot. You’re at full loudness by like 9-10 o clock. Just gets dirtier after that. Great tones. We were able to get pretty similar tones with the CG and M12. I have a bigger rectifier in my M12. But I had to get to like 2 o clock on the M12 volume to match the CG at 10 o clock.
Way less similarity with the RX. Super huge lows and highs and sooo scooped comparatively. Mind you we didn’t have everything running through the same speaker. RX was in a G12H Creamback which only accentuates the scoop.
But a fun sampling. Good to finally play a Ghia in the flesh.

Interesting, and hope everything is going well for you!
Ghia can get pretty loud, and a little louder cleaner with a 5751 in v1 and of course lower output pickups. It's sort of in a sweet spot with volume and flexibility.

I chose my M12 over my Ghia when push came to shove. The Ghia does a thing with Greenbacks that is just classic RNR, but the M12 stays tighter and works much better IMHO with pedals. I also have the Bigger Rectifier, I used a 5751 in V2. I currently run it into 2x10 Z10’s.

...but the M12 stays tighter and works much better IMHO with pedals. My buddy who owns the Ghia felt the same after borrowing the M12 for a couple weeks. Loves the Ghia but appreciates how you can trim the flub if needed on the M12 when pushing it hard. Both great amps. More alike than not probably. Both felt great in stereo with the RX.
