The Dark World is blowing me away. I struggle with the delay and reverbs that have a ton of options but bury everything in menus. I've followed Chase Bliss for a while mostly because they have a great back story, but I've been on the fence if their pedals would actually be useful for me. I had an invite to their first scratch and dent sale so there was less risk in trying it out. I looked at a few of their options, but since I love the reverb in my Maz 38 so much, I've decided the reverb on my board can be more odd ball. Yes, the Dark World can do some really out there stuff, but the standard reverbs on the world side are really, really good. The dark side which has the more modulated options can also be really subtle if you want it to be. The fact that it's a dual reverb makes it unlike any pedal I've had. So far, even the fun/out there stuff is gorgeous. With only a couple hours under the hood on this thing it is inspiring and I think it will lead to me playing differently in some contexts for all that it does. I don't know if I'll jump at anything else from them, but I'm really happy with the Dark World.

That looks nice. It's got all the controls I need to get a good reverb sound, pre delay, tone, mix and dwell. I'm sure it gets far out stuff which can be cool sometimes.
Can you set two presets? Like one for each footswitch?

Like one for each footswitch? The toggle that is in between the the footswitches is the set up to engage presets. I haven't gotten that deep with the pedal yet so I can't say exactly how that works. They also have a Favs pedal that is compatible with many of their pedals, so I know there is some ability to also control presents externally (not to mention the midi jack). I think the dip switched they put on the far side allow for various options on presets as well. I haven't even touched those yet, so I might be thinking of their Mood pedal which I also watched a bunch of demos on in trying to decide which one to get. Honestly, even with the out there stuff that I was dialing in, I just backed the mix off a little and ended up with some really interesting reverb wash that sat really nice underneath stuff. I've had that on simpler reverbs but usually had a probably dialing in the difference between usable and oscillation. The Dark World comes with a fold out of various settings to try, maybe 16. I tried three and liked those so much I didn't try to work through them all.

I came across Mark Johnson and really digging his demos. Was excited to see that the Dark World was him playing through a Maz.

Mark has great demos ….long and introspectively mellow . The MOOD is another great one. Has a delay and reverb, plus a polyphonic octave setting….and the little micro loop. Actually would be one of the pedals last on ,y list to get rid of.
I’ve been thinking about the Dark World….have the MOOD and Blooper….glad you are digging it.

I caught a demo that really highlighted it in delay mode and I think it does what I’ve been looking for and more. I don’t do a lot of shoe gaze stuff so I hope I don’t end up with too much soup.
