When knobs on your amps stay on one spot, maybe where the amp sounds best, and time goes by, you may experience some crackling, signal loss, etc. While these symptoms are often funky tubes, loose sockets etc sometimes it's the knobs. Turn each control knob rapidly back and forth from all the way off to all the way up several times. It helps to leave knobs all the way off if you are not playing the amp for a while. If you want to remember your perfect settings, take a cel picture of the front panel.

It removes contamination or oxidization between the element and the wiper in a pot.

Also use Doc’s recommended annual amp maintenance to reduce hums, pops, and crackles.

I did the Z amp maintenance thing on 13 year old Remedy I picked up used. Pretty easy. It show any signs of needing it, but I did it anyway because it was pretty old.
My other Z's, no issues at and haven't messed with it. My Gibson guitars, that's another story. I have to do that every time I play, and if I go to the trouble of spraying the pots, that works for about 2 months. One of those has a 3rd party harness, so not just a Gibson thing. My PRS has never had an issue there, fwiw.
