Is there some info on how amps get rated? The Wreck is 30w but the DB4 is 38w. I know a lot goes into this equation, I'm wondering if the Doc addressed this somewhere? I have tried a few searches, but it's not an easy search to narrow down.

Wattage is determined by the clean headroom before distortion. The DB4 has more headroom, so it will clip later than the Z Wreck, which is designed to have less headroom.
It's measured by the output wattage average over a few productions of a sine wave sent into the amp, right up to the clipping threshold. At full clipping, an amp will often be beyond it's nominal wattage rating. The Z Wreck at full clip will output closer to 35-40 watts.
