thatstatuemoved Z-Natic *****
I recently decided I wanted to start gigging my Z-lux some. It has seen very little use, maybe played some in my music room, but not much. Fired it up and started practicing and started getting buzzing, crackling. Some of the lower notes were fizzy. WTH? So not knowing what to do, I replaced ALL the tubes with new ones. Fired it up and still getting some of that. I am thinking it is not a tube issue which it is a lot of the time. Does anyone have any suggestions and or remedy's? With the cost of a retube, I sure do not want to resort to that again. Mine was made in 2015 and requires the older tube scheme with the nos 6201 in V3 which I have. Hard to find some of the tubes Doc has listed for this model. Can other ones be used? The last set of tubes I got were from eurotubes. They have a package for the lux and that is what I got. It does not have the 6201 or the mullard for V1 and the two sovtek tubes. I put in the suggested tubes that Doc recommends as I had some of those, but still having issues. Any info will be appreciated. Thanks--Jester 1 Black Z-Lux Combo 1 Black Maz 38 Studio Combo 1 Cure combo 1 Black Z open back 1-12 Quilter Micropro Mach2
