Hello all,
My Z28 is growling at me. When I finger the g string on the fifth fret and slide up to the 7th fret there is a phantom roar under the notes. The notes are clear and distinct but there there is a faint distorted roar under neath the notes. I've changed tubes completely with two other sets I have but it still does it. I have changed speakers and/or cabinets but it still does it. This is the only place on the whole fretboard that it occurs. Any ideas?
Thanks for any insight on this,
Jack

I'm sorry! It's actually any D note also on the fretboard and it's getting louder

Make sure your strings are far enough from your pickups. Keep us posted.

Is it only on one guitar, or more than one?

All my guitars. Of course it is much more dominant with HB pickups.

Jack give Don in repairs a call after Tuesday 216 475 1962 . For this issue to be so specific to one frequency I have to believe it is faulty tube, or your guitar's setup. A component failure would be much more inclusive of a wide band of frequencies.
If I can ask did you buy the Z 28 new ? Did you register it ? What is the serial number ? And where did to purchase it ?
