Just got mine from Sweetwater. For once FedEx did not destroy an amp shipped to me. This one looked great, no a mark on the box even. Not even supposed to get on until the Spring I was told. Unfortunately one of the tubes is severely microphonic. After checking everything was seated correctly and there were no loose parts I tried another speaker. After tapping lightly on the tubes it is either the EF86 or 12AX7. The EF86 seemed to make more noise. I found some old tubes from my Z28MK1 I sold that I will try tonight. Hopefully one of those works but it still sounded great the short time I played it. Stuff happens but I am glad that the speaker is still mounted and the transformers are not broken off or a large crack in the cabinet (this really happened to a combo I purchased and shipped to me).
Any thoughts are appreciated but I am fairly confident it is one of those.

Let me know what you find. I’ll try and help. Z No big deal, it was just the EF86 and I had a used one for testing from a Z28 I had before. Not sure if or how that rubber grommet (if that's the correct term) around the tube comes off but I did not want to risk breaking the tube so I left that as is. There is a very TINY bit microphonics still there (with the used tube)and I assume that would help with it but overall the noise is gone. Thank you for your support, you are one of a kind Mike. BTW the amp rocks even with a bad tube! Big improvement on an already fantastic amp. Well done. Please let me know if I should go through Sweetwater to get a replacement tube or what is the proper way to handle this. Thanks! Pete

Pete first register your amp as per the hang card on the handle. Then email Don repairs@drzamps.com Don will back Tuesday and he’ll test a new EF86 and send it out to you. Mention we spoke and he will handle the rest.
